6X5 Thread V5.0 *new 1/1/21*

IMG_5152.jpg

I shot 3 different 6x5s today. I used 2 different lots of SK Biathlon and a lot of SK Pistol Match. The Pistol match did the best. I used the last 6 groups. Average; 2.276" and best 1.39". 200 yards, Vudoo, NF 7-35 scope, Bi Pod, rabbit ear rear bag from a bench. I have had good results with SK Pistol Match in the past, but for some reason I have been shooting Biathlon. My averages with Biathlon today were 2.751" and 2.945".

edit to add: I used a better target today. I could see what I was doing. :)

New to shooting this rimfire thing but not new to shooting...here is my submission for the 6X5 at 50 yards
This was shot outdoors prone with an Atlas bipod and squeeze rear bag. Below are the rest of the details:

-Vudoo V-22 (Gen 1) action
-Timney 2 stage - flat shoe - 8oz/8oz
-Kukri profile 16" barrel
-XLR Industries Carbon Chassis
-Vudoo 20 MOA pic rail
-Vortex Viper PST Gen 1 in 6-24x50 FFP MOA
-Nightforce rings
-Atlas PSR bipod
-Tab squeeze rear bag
-Lapua Center-X

Best group .149"
Average group .185"

Damn RainierRimfire, that is smoking good with a semi! I know the Kidds are shooters but that is impressive. I have it on the board.

Thanks. X-Act made the difference today. I had been using Center-X with pretty good results, but X-Act
proved its worth.

wow thx for posting the Kidd groups, so little info here on them, im considering picking one up

thx again!

Yeah, do it, I don’t think you’ll be disappointed. I have a Vudoo and I wasn’t sure how I’d like a semi but this gun has proved to be a lot of fun. Shooting X-Act for the first time today really tightened my groups up.

I am very impressed with the consistent precision of the Vudoo. Well done.

Just did my first 6x5 at 50 yards with the new vudoo. Average was .287” with SK standard. Bipod and rear bag. Scope is a Nightforce SHV until my zco comes in which should help tighten up the aiming point. Curious how testing other ammo will go.

Melglass, welcome! Is that a RimX your shooting? Also I have your average at 0.954” not 1.075”, did I make a mistake or misread something? I just want to try and be accurate when I post up the results.

I’m getting 1.075 Inch average with a best group of .643in. The second to last round killed me but I guess I can’t complain paid $112 a case when I got it. Bergara B14r Carbon.

I was completely missing target #4 somehow and was averaging the 5 groups for 6. I have it corrected now, sometimes I am pretty damn slow...

Best way I could figure to get 6 on my old archery targets. Beat it by a little today but will wait till I get one worth making you go through the trouble to put on the list.

Yes, I agree with no restrictions on what you shoot or how you shoot it. I modified the “rules”. Let me know what yall think.

jhr1986, I have your Bergara on the results. Welcome to the 6X5
J
Man keeping going this long is great
Been out of the rimfire game a few years
Lots of coyotes needed the air let out of them got hooked on thermal night
Hunts
But to the point
I don’t care who is #1 on the list or what rifle, scope, ammo the use
What matters to me can I beat my last post (probably not)
I have been shooting 22 100yd matches for past 2 years
See all the brands
I only want to beat myself.
Let them run what they brung hope you brung enuff
There are a lot of good shooting going on here
An thanks for hanging in there

Hello everyone: my first 6x5 and only my third outing with this new rifle, a Tikka T1x. 16 inch barrel, A-tek moderator, Primary Arms GLx 4-16x50 FFP scope. The rifle has had about 400 rounds through it at the end of today's shooting. The moderator I pulled off another rifle, so that has had a few rounds through.

Hoping my groups will get better, but here is my first go. Hoping the groups get a bit tighter when I get to know the rifle and the scope (that's also new) a bit more and on a zero wind day. Wind today was about 8mph crosswind at roof level, bit lower at the semi-sheltered firing point.

50 Yard. Average 0.460", Best 0.328" SK Match 22LR, Temp 20C

Don't know if this is in the spirit of this thread or not, but I also shot a 6x5 with an ERMA M1 Carbine: A 1968 West German semi auto 22LR trainer for the M1 Carbine. Open sights. Someone let me know if I should post it.

Do you have 2 B14’s that you are shooting? I thought you were shooting the same rifle...

Yes two B14Rs one Carbon and one steel. Shot them both at 193 yards. Beat my previous best with the Carbon and have a first for the steel.

Steel

Had a good run going on this one till the guy next to me starting doing mag dumps and I kept getting caught mid trigger squeeze on the last three targets. 556 hitting a 25 yard steel plate was very distracting.

80 3-5 variable
both guns bipod and bag
193 yards
Eley Action 40gr

Oh, cool. I did not realize. I think I have your records messed up. I thought your entries were with the same rifle. Shoot me a PM or post it with the best average and the best group with each rifle and at what distance and I’ll get it all sorted out for you on the results.

sorry...

Use the target from post #1499 for the steel barrel 100 yard and #1501 from the Carbon barreled gun 100 yard. Post 1503 has targets from both guns at 193 yards. The 51 yard target that I posted is from The Carbon gun.

I think I have you all squared away. I think the steel barreled rifle had a better 200 yard average back 7/25/20, correct?
