I’ve never done it so I’m not familiar....what’s the difference between the absentee ballot and mail in vote? They don’t verify mail in but they do verify absentee?
It sounds like a difficult task to determine who qualifies for an absentee ballot and who does not, especially under time crunch, if I’m understanding this correctly. The absentee ballot is verified before it's mailed to the voter. There isn't verification when they would send out voting ballots to all. I can't speak for every state, but this is how my state operates.
Have you been to South Florida lately?Kinda hard to drive when you been dead ten years....just saying

I guess you still need some re-education before you leave the Pit 1911addict42. You have to request an Absentee Ballot in advance before it is mailed to you. Your request is verified as legit and valid to vote in the Precinct or Parish or County in which you reside. Your Ballot is sent to you after verification and you return it by mail. What the DemonRats want is a ballot mailed to every person in the United States that is on a voter registration list or may be eligible to vote. Then all these returns are to be mailed back to be counted. What Could Go Wrong!!!!!
Now you need to exit the Pit and go play somewhere else.
Nope. Not difficult at all. My state has done it for as long as I can remember.
Are you implying masks don't work???Sometimes problems don't have any good solutions.
There's problems with mail in votes for sure. There's also problems with in-person only; it would force those that are immunocompromised, like the sick and elderly, to choose between in person voting or not voting at all. No good solutions for that other than mail in votes.
That's not to say riots etc. isn't a double standard, we know it is.
Wait........... What the Fuck! The USPS union has endorsed Biden. The USPS let it's workers actively work for the Hillary campaign. Basic logic should tell anyone that letting a bunch of partisans process the vote is a really bad idea. So far we have seen ballots sent to dogs, cats, dead people and folks that are not citizens.
In addition we have seen many primary elections that have "screwed the pooch" due to mass mail voting. Mr. or Mrs. 1911 which ever it is, seems to have an agenda. That agenda seems to be to create chaos and get a reaction that can score themselves a few New World Order points.
You’re either a total leftist whose defrauding us with proclamations of constitutionalism, or you’re a retard. Ballot harvesting is legal in Oregon. Not you, or anyone else could possibly know if there’s any fraud. Ballot harvesting ensures it is impossible to prove fraud. It basically does away with any chain of custody on votes, and creates a system where whoever is the most dishonest wins with zero repercussions. It should absolutely be federally illegal as it is a license to cheat consequence free.I'm way less worried about collecting mailboxes, and way more worried about a conscious effort to slow mail delivery sufficiently to force people to polling locations during a pandemic instead of encouraging/enabling vote-by-mail. It just feels like a strategy borne of desperation. Am I the only person on this forum that (a) loves the 2nd Amendment ... AND ... (b) believes that every vote matters and should be enabled and counted in a democracy?
I live in Oregon. We've been 100% vote-by-mail for many years, with pretty much "Zero" fraud. Same with the other vote-by-mail states.
I'm afraid of how the 2nd Amendment will be treated in an all-Democratic government.
I'm more afraid of what will happen if the current occupant of the White House openly cheats to win, contests the results, or refuses to accept them.
That scenario isn't going to well for Belarus right now ... I'm just sayin' ... let everyone vote, and whoever wins ... wins. That's the way it's supposed to work.
They probably didn’t do it on the level that would be required now. The number that would be requesting the absentee ballot would likely be much, much greater this year, and with a lot less time to do it.Nope. Not difficult at all. My state has done it for as long as I can remember.
Why is the fraud only going to be in favor of the Democrats? If there’s going to be fraud I would think it goes both ways. The difference is the Democrat plan guarantees fraud.

I’m assuming that’s why the Dems are against it, they must think that’s they’ll lose out on those votes if they all need to be verified first.
Either way, I’ll say again, this election is toast, because no matter which side gets their way on this issue, the other side will claim fraud and cheating. It’s a shit show.

Doing it the Republicans way may not be fraud, but would make it difficult for some people to exercise their right to vote, which is also a problem.
Dude... I also read. Probably the same things you are. But I don't pretend that I’m some kind of expert on it. It’s a complicated issue. Reading a Fox News article or watching a segment on it doesn’t mean that you, or anyone else here understands how it all works. Some questions I asked were to get your opinion, don’t confuse it with me asking you what the facts are.No, because the time frame to request an absentee ballot is up until October 20th. Yes, you can request this ballot via the internet or by mail. You don't seem to want to believe what everyone is telling you, so either you're a troll or a complete idiot. I will form my judgement by your response to this message.
They didn’t know then what we know now.So, it's more difficult today to exercise your right to vote than it was during the Spanish Flu, or any other time of emergency? But they did it. Sorry you lose troll.
As a LCPL I used to respect Gunny's not so much.I'm way less worried about collecting mailboxes, and way more worried about a conscious effort to slow mail delivery sufficiently to force people to polling locations during a pandemic instead of encouraging/enabling vote-by-mail. That’s not a logical argument, but that is the pathway that justifies Democrat activists justifying their voting for all the people who “can’t”. We are already past having ”free and fair” elections with ballot harvesting. This ensures civil war. Legalized cheating and activists getting as many votes as they can harvest means the ship is already over the falls and falling. You can always claim that brain dead leftists can’t cross the street to vote. What’s completely absent is ANY sense of responsibility. Everyone should NOT vote. The uninformed do their duty by not voting. Only a leftist thinks it’s best if every criminal and moron votes. This ensures we are ruled by criminals and morons. Why is the fraud only going to be in favor of the Democrats? If there’s going to be fraud I would think it goes both ways.

The very last thing the left has ever wanted was a free, fair, honest, and legal election. That’s not a logical argument, but that is the pathway that justifies Democrat activists justifying their voting for all the people who “can’t”. Perhaps it’s because I’m fairly new to the political arena, and don’t have any deep loyalty to either side, but I don’t see issues as black and white as you do. I don’t think Leftists in general are evil, nor do I think all Republicans are good. There’s good and bad on both sides, like everything in life. And plenty of grey areas. That’s not a logical argument, but that is the pathway that justifies Democrat activists justifying their voting for all the people who “can’t”. I thought 1911boy said he was done with the pit?

Usually, when I evaluate both sides, my conclusion is to side Republican. That’s based on how I was raised by my Republican parents and the values I’ve been taught. But I try to at least see what the perspective is from the other side. Not because I’m a snowflake, but because I think it’s important to do that when going through life.
Sometimes, when I do that, I don’t agree with the right, and lean left.
And on rare occasions, like this one, I just don’t know. Because I’m not sure what the “facts“ even are. For example, one source I read claims that 34 states already do mail in votes that don’t require an “excusal” like absentee ballots. The Republicans seem to dispute this. There are many other “facts” that are under dispute. Since I know almost nothing about it, I don’t really know what to think. Both sides seem to have legitimate concerns.
One thing I absolutely agree on and am preparing for, is the civil unrest that’s going to result from all this.
Sadly, there’s a lot of hatred on both sides of the aisle, probably nothing like it since the Civil War.
That makes sense- I agree with most of that.Try to think critically about this, regardless of what side you sit on). If the Democrats thought for one second that the Republicans were going to manipulate the mail-in ballots, do you think they would allow it? The same goes for a voter ID - if the Democrats thought for one second that these mythical voters without any form of government identification would vote Republican (at least more more R than D), they'd have a Voter ID bill passed in the house TONIGHT.
The left's goal with mail-in ballots is two-fold:
1) Steal the election, if possible (ends justify the means mentality)
2) Undermine confidence in the voting system for this and all future elections
There is no downside to mail-in voting for them. The fact that our elected officials aren't doing everything in their power to ensure a valid election above all else is insane. All they care about is gaining and/or keeping power.
Um... guilty of whatSeems like a guilty conscience to me.....
Guilty as charged???
And plenty of grey areas.
Republicans are shit. I pretty much hate all politicians, and everyone with the mental illness of wanting to rule other people. No one here likes Republicans much except when they stand up for the Constitution. Didn't the floidiots hang some guy named chad and that's why the earth is going to burst into flames in exactly 7 yrs from tomorrow? This going to eclipse the hanging chad to hell and back.

I-95 fucked FL.That was transplanted Yankees in South FL.
Democrats hung Chad.
Then you get the I-75 variety that we get around here. Not ideal, but I'd take a MI yankee over a NY yankee any day.Fortunately, I'm 300 miles west of 95.

I'm fine with in-person voting, as one of a number of legal options to vote. In states where absentee and mail-in voting are legal and regulated ... all I want is for the USPS to be allowed to deliver the damn mail the same way they did in November of 2016. But ... if I have to admit, if I was an ardent Trump supporter looking at the situation unfolding as it is today, I'd be trying to kneecap the USPS too. It's probably the only path to victory given the expected number of pandemic-induced mail-in votes. It's a workable strategy. Not ethical or democratic (small "d") ... but it could work. So, you're okay with people going into Walmart, Target, Home Depot by the hundreds, but you don't think it's necessary to vote in person? You're okay with allowing thousands of people rioting or at the very least demonstrating, but not okay with in person voting?
Close, but not quite. An absentee ballot is "requested" for some valid reason (travel, disability, etc.). You make the request, provide your reason, and get your ballot in the mail (and return it that way). A mail-in ballot is similar, but varies from state to state. Some states send an application to everyone on the voter rolls, and you return it to receive your ballot. If you don't return that "offer" to vote by mail, you don't receive a ballot. Either way ... no state mass-delivers unrequested ballots to every eligible voter. That's not how mail-in voting works (anywhere). The absentee ballot is verified before it's mailed to the voter. There isn't verification when they would send out voting ballots to all. I can't speak for every state, but this is how my state operates.
One caveat ... mail-in ballots are mailed in mass to all registered voters in the 5 vote-by-mail states ... my state of Oregon being one of them.Close, but not quite. The places where election mail is going to "dead people" and "dogs" ... it's "offers" to acquire mail-in ballots. The "dog" (allegedly) still has to send a positive response to the state, receive a mailed ballot, return it, and the signatures are checked and have to match before the "dog's" vote is tallied.
First off, thank you for giving a response that has some substance behind it. Hard to come by over here...Republicans are shit. I pretty much hate all politicians, and everyone with the mental illness of wanting to rule other people. No one here likes Republicans much except when they stand up for the Constitution. Trump got elected because he wasn’t a politician.
I don’t have to like leaders. I just have to like their policies and their level of Liberalism (real, limited government Liberalism). Celebrity politicians are horrible for the Republic, including Trump. We just got lucky that he’s leading like Regan, and is a thousand more conservative than the cesspool culture he comes from...
The left wants to fall in love with their leaders and destroy anyone who disagrees with them. This has always been their definition of riteousness. Half of their program is turning citizens into subjects. They don’t ever aim to win an election. It’s always how to establish dynasty as they have in almost every major city. Coming to a district near you.
