I think they are talking about sending out a ballot to EVERYONE on the voting roles.

Voting by mail or by absentee ballot should be the exception not the norm.
People risk getting shot in other countries to go vote. We should not have to fear intimidation but, IMHO ANTIFA, BLM and other Marxists will escalate their violence and intimidation against conservatives with a four prong attack; with an added goal of disrupting the election.
1) Fear of Covid-19 drives the impetus for mail in balloting. After all, they surmise the mail in balloting would prevent close contact with others during election day. By keeping people away from the polls they reduce the number of voters to decide the election.
2) The rioting they are creating now has the effect of thinning out the police forces. It also intimidates leadership to distance themselves and hamstring the police to the point that no cop wants to risk his life trying to stop violence or provide security. The thinning and intimidation of the police has an added goal of preventing any security for polling places and polling personnel. Also remember the Black Panther thug with the night stick outside the Philadelphia polling place in 2008?
3) When they produce enough fear by attacking and intimidating conservatives, they hope that people (conservatives) will stay home on election day. They hope that nobody will want to risk an attack while driving to the polls. They also hope to produce enough fear in poll workers to discourage them from showing up on election day.
4) I hope I'm wrong on this last point as I hope I'm wrong about everything else. Look for attacks on mail carriers close to election day. They may try to intimidate mail carries before and during the election to the point that mail-in ballots don't make it to the boards of elections. The goal will be to get as many mail carriers to call in sick to disrupt mail service.
All four of the above points are part of the Marxist plan to overthrow the government of the United States. If they can disrupt the elections they can disrupt the legitimate function of a representative form of government.

The absentee ballot is verified before it's mailed to the voter. There isn't verification when they would send out voting ballots to all. I can't speak for every state, but this is how my state operates.
It sounds like a difficult task to determine who qualifies for an absentee ballot and who does not, especially under time crunch, if I’m understanding this correctly.
I guess you still need some re-education before you leave the Pit 1911addict42. You have to request an Absentee Ballot in advance before it is mailed to you. Your request is verified as legit and valid to vote in the Precinct or Parish or County in which you reside. Your Ballot is sent to you after verification and you return it by mail. What the DemonRats want is a ballot mailed to every person in the United States that is on a voter registration list or may be eligible to vote. Then all these returns are to be mailed back to be counted. What Could Go Wrong!!!!!

Nope. Not difficult at all. My state has done it for as long as I can remember.
This also includes illegal immigrants and folks that have lost their voting privilege.
You also have to request your absentee ballot before a particular time to allow verification.
Most functioning adults are able to plan ahead and determine where they may be on election day and determine if they need an absentee ballot .
In those cases of emergency the voter gets a "provisional" ballot. They are allowed to vote but because there status has not been verified their vote is set aside.
If the race is close enough and the provisional ballots could be deciding than they are verified, counted and added to determine the winner.
Does everyone realize most overseas absentee ballots, many of which are service people, dont get counted?

Maryland did mail in for the primary and it was a complete shit show! Some people didn't receive ballots till after due date. Myself and many other who work & planned on voting in person found out election day that our usual voting locations were closed. Not all mind you, some of them were open in heavily populated areas (Democrat strongholds)?? Not mine in a rural area. And of coarse the post offices closed promptly at 5:00 so no post mark for us working folks.

Trump doesn't have to slow the postal service down it has already ground to a crawl. I sold a scope to a member on here and sent it 2nd day. I had to package the sunshade separately and mailed them at the same time. The sunshade got there in two days, the scope took like 14!

Not you, or anyone else could possibly know if there’s any fraud. Ballot harvesting ensures it is impossible to prove fraud. It basically does away with any chain of custody on votes, and creates a system where whoever is the most dishonest wins with zero repercussions. It should absolutely be federally illegal as it is a license to cheat consequence free.

They probably didn’t do it on the level that would be required now. The number that would be requesting the absentee ballot would likely be much, much greater this year, and with a lot less time to do it.
I’m assuming that’s why the Dems are against it, they must think that’s they’ll lose out on those votes if they all need to be verified first.
Either way, I’ll say again, this election is toast, because no matter which side gets their way on this issue, the other side will claim fraud and cheating. It’s a shit show.
No, because the time frame to request an absentee ballot is up until October 20th. Yes, you can request this ballot via the internet or by mail. You don't seem to want to believe what everyone is telling you, so either you're a troll or a complete idiot. I will form my judgement by your response to this message.

Perhaps it’s because I’m fairly new to the political arena, and don’t have any deep loyalty to either side,but I don’t see issues as black and white as you do. I don’t think Leftists in general are evil, nor do I think all Republicans are good. There’s good and bad on both sides, like everything in life. And plenty of grey areas.
Usually, when I evaluate both sides, my conclusion is to side Republican. That’s based on how I was raised by my Republican parents and the values I’ve been taught. But I try to at least see what the perspective is from the other side. Not because I’m a snowflake, but because I think it’s important to do that when going through life.
Sometimes, when I do that, I don’t agree with the right, and lean left.
And on rare occasions, like this one, I just don’t know. Because I’m not sure what the “facts“ even are. For example, one source I read claims that 34 states already do mail in votes that don’t require an “excusal” like absentee ballots. The Republicans seem to dispute this. There are many other “facts” that are under dispute. Since I know almost nothing about it, I don’t really know what to think. Both sides seem to have legitimate concerns.
One thing I absolutely agree on and am preparing for, is the civil unrest that’s going to result from all this.
Sadly, there’s a lot of hatred on both sides of the aisle, probably nothing like it since the Civil War.

Would anyone trust a mail carrier who might happen to be a democrat or a republican-never-Trump guy, to deliver a mail-in ballot from a house with a Trump 2020 sign in front?
Even if there were no Trump 2020 sign in front of the house but the aforementioned letter carrier delivers mail everyday to this house. He or she may know from the start that the homeowner may be a republican supporter of Trump because of previous literature delivered to the house.
So would you still trust this same letter carrier to actually deliver a mail-in ballot?

Try to think critically about this, regardless of what side you sit on). If the Democrats thought for one second that the Republicans were going to manipulate the mail-in ballots, do you think they would allow it? The same goes for a voter ID - if the Democrats thought for one second that these mythical voters without any form of government identification would vote Republican (at least more more R than D), they'd have a Voter ID bill passed in the house TONIGHT.

I'm fine with in-person voting, as one of a number of legal options to vote. In states where absentee and mail-in voting are legal and regulated ... all I want is for the USPS to be allowed to deliver the damn mail the same way they did in November of 2016. But ... if I have to admit, if I was an ardent Trump supporter looking at the situation unfolding as it is today, I'd be trying to kneecap the USPS too. It's probably the only path to victory given the expected number of pandemic-induced mail-in votes. It's a workable strategy. Not ethical or democratic (small "d") ... but it could work.
Close, but not quite. An absentee ballot is "requested" for some valid reason (travel, disability, etc.). You make the request, provide your reason, and get your ballot in the mail (and return it that way). A mail-in ballot is similar, but varies from state to state. Some states send an application to everyone on the voter rolls, and you return it to receive your ballot. If you don't return that "offer" to vote by mail, you don't receive a ballot. Either way ... no state mass-delivers unrequested ballots to every eligible voter. That's not how mail-in voting works (anywhere).
The places where election mail is going to "dead people" and "dogs" ... it's "offers" to acquire mail-in ballots. The "dog" (allegedly) still has to send a positive response to the state, receive a mailed ballot, return it, and the signatures are checked and have to match before the "dog's" vote is tallied.
One caveat ... mail-in ballots are mailed in mass to all registered voters in the 5 vote-by-mail states ... my state of Oregon being one of them.

I don't see the left quite the same way you do, but similarly, I dislike almost all of what they stand for . I do think a lot of what's coming from "the left" now, and what people hate so much about it, is really the MEDIA. Trump rails against them, and many of us know that at least to a large degree, what he's saying is true. (When I read the Art of the Deal, is when I thought he would win.)
The media for the most part have selfish intentions, IMO, and have pitted the country against each other with lies, deceit, and hatred.
If you take a look at when things really started spiraling out of control here, it's when mass media became easily consumed over electronic devices and the internet. First, their method was simply to sell more; drama fear and anger sells more news, right?
Over time, they became a tool, for the right and the left. And the Russians took advantage of it in 2016; now nobody is going to trust results of the elections, even without this mail in issue.
The media is the enemy, and there are no checks and balances in place to stop them. It's the one thing the forefathers couldn't have seen coming...
