...so, to bring the standard up a bit, I’m posting from my ER bed with an antibiotic IV just having returned from a CT Scan. Being treated for sepsis from an infected surgical wound.

    Losers better up yo game!

Yeah, that’s Toucan Sam and a Froot Loops cap, jealous bitches.

Man. That sucks. Hope you feel better. That sepsis is bad news as you know. Glad you got on it quickly.

If it makes you feel good I wrenches the F out of my back after 18 months of almost no pain. Thank you Statin drugs.

Wtf?! Is this your fault or the doctors?

Longer story than I can type from my iPhone, but gist is the female doc (not saying she’s bad because of her gender) that hacked the sebaceous cyst out of my chest (they called it the “dinosaur egg” after finally chopping it out) never shaved my chest before cutting into me and never prescribed antibiotics after stiching me up, saying I shouldn’t need them. Was all local anesthesia and she was hacking away like Leatherface. Once she got into it, she said that they wouldn’t normally do one that big in her office, but would refer it to the OR/Hospital with general anesthesia, imaging, and the works.

Well, between hackjob, ingrown chest hair, and no antibiotics, here I am on a fine Sunday afternoon. Been here for a few hours now.

Sorry Horta, because of my work schedule (and lack of nice toys) I haven't had the chance to flip my side by side into a fetid swamp whilst joyriding by the electronically amplified light of the stars while sporting fresh surgical wounds. I have failed you sensei, I will do better. 🤣

Seriously though, get well soon. I don't know if you have heard but there is some killer Chinese virus that hides out in ED's and kills everybody, sometimes twice. Too bad you couldn't have got sick in December, the virus is only dangerous through November of this year. So, just hold your breath and don't lick any doorknobs.

Damn dude, well it sounds to me like she owes you some sort of unobtanium thermal gear and maybe a kak rifle or three.

Yeah, yeah, yeah... you're just going in for round two of the penis enlargement surgery. They couldn't get it big enough the first time... ;)

Welp, being discharged. Had a Vagasil IV, a CT scan, wound exam and clean, prescription for Clindamycin, and a $600 ER visit co-pay courtesy of my $1800/month Blue Cross insurance.

I’m happy to support a dozen illegals on ObamaCare with obscene healthcare premiums and annually decreasing benefits and escalating out-of-pocket expenses.

Well, September is Sepsis Awareness Month. Go to Sepsis.org for more information. Its actually useful.

thats good news you were able to do 1 IV dose and go home on oral ABX.
sucks sure, but way way better than it could have been.

Pretty normal to take out those cysts in an office.
that big, I dunno about. Usually only ABX if infected.
Better to risk this vs creating more resistant bugs is the idea.

@TheHorta perhaps if you showered More than 1x a month or didnt paint yourself in poop Like you were a resident in @1J04 hotel it wouldnt have happened?

Humor aside, best wishes. Holler if you need anything. I am a registered jackwagon with some experience with cellulitis and sepsis. 😊

I flirted with sepsis almost two years ago. It wasn't fun, and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone... not even TheHorta, who lacked the common sense to ask the Pit for advice before this ill-fated adventure.

Fuck...sorry to hear. My Mom died of sepsis due to a bad cut that became infected and then went south quickly. She was already in poor health but that just did her in. Hope you recover quickly.

So, they’re not calling me septic, but went through the motions to keep it from happening PowdaH was right. Had a bunch of faux experts running around telling me I needed to do something about my horrible seeping wound that was causing a fair bit of discomfort, elevated temp, elevated HR, lower BP — classic signs of the onset of sepsis (or so I’m told).

Hospital says good to go, but wouldn’t remove the stitches that were supposed to be removed last Thursday (scheduling conflict, rescheduled for tomorrow) because they don’t like to pee in another doc’s pool.

    Kinda sucks, but whatever.

Hope you didn't run into any of those male nurses. They are all homos! :ROFLMAO:

Seriously? The RN dude said due to COVID they now have to check my temp using their mouth on my penis. It sounded weird, but I’m not a healthcare professional and figured I should just lay back and think about baseball.

Had that in my leg in OSUT wayyyyy too long ago. Took off my ACU’s after the FTX and the shit was green, my knee looked like an elephant’s foot, and was conformed to the bandages that it was wrapped with (kind like playdo). Had I waited another day they would have had to amputate (in fucking AIT...).

Nothing like a good infection to put things in perspective.

BTDT too. Almost died like Jack Daniels --he kicked his safe, I guess for me it was the loading table. I'd had surgery there and broke that toe --again. It went south FAST. Like in a few hours from nothing to ER with 105 temp. fast.

Vankomycin and that other shit they gotta pump in you? It's hell on your veins man. Collapsed some and re-routed others. Make sure they change that fucker often and use big veins. There's something else that's good to know but I forgot... It's kinda easy to fuck up.

Too bad I don't live around there anymore, if you're in H'ville Hospital I had some good connections back in the day... And if nothing else, I could come fuck with you. It's a boring three days and then you're gonna be tired as hell when you get home for like the next month. Or I did, antibiotics are hard on me and those are the worst.

Don't get MRSA, Covid or turn gay while you're there, it's science, it happens. Hang in there buddy.
