1000+ in east Tennessee? Or even 500+?

It looks like I will be relocating to the Sweetwater/Athens area in a year or 2. I was wondering if there are any long range ranges in eastern TN? I did a search and came up with nada. I know K&M is in Hooterville in west central TN, but that's about 5 hours from Sweetwater.

Thanks.

Hmm....Let's see. I'm sure some members on here have better info on the Oak Ridge Range than I do. Oak Ridge Sportsmen's Association

Then you got Strategic Edge in Chappel, Hill, TN

It isn't too far of a drive up to Hazzard, KY....I've shot steel out to 1600 yards there...but bring a truck and not a Honda to get to the shooting area.

There is another place around Dalton or Rome GA...I can't remember...shot there a few years ago.

I've shot a few places in and around Knoxville...but it was all private stuff.

I feel your pain though...I live in KY and usually travel 3.5hrs North to TVP in Ohio to shoot long range.

I called them back in March to get on their wait list, I think I was like number 6 or 7 at the time. They called me last week when they came in and told me I had 24 hours if I wanted to buy it. Sounded like they have a pretty substantial waitlist right now, but they can tell you how many people would be in front of you.

I’m interested in more info on this range in the Dalton/Rome, GA area. I haven’t heard of that one and google isn’t bringing up anything for me.

Like I said...it was a while back..and I can't even remember what I had for breakfast. When you've shot at a million places...they all blur together unless they are your home ranges. I'm sure someone on here will pipe up with some information on the situation.

Dead Zero in Spencer TN.
1,000 yards.

^^^ Very nice place, still fairly new, the rifle range is always hot and has both steel and electronic targets that show hits, velocity, group size, and other data on the I-pads on each station. I remember shooting at targets at 200, 300, 600, 700, 800, 900, and 1000, maybe some in between, can't remember. There is a lot more than a 1000 yard range there too, so if you are into skeet, trap, handguns, etc. bring other guns. Plus the golf carts you can rent for cheap are a nice touch.

Coleman's Creek in Ellerbe NC. Steel to 1743 yards. Lots and lots of steel. Unknown distance to about 750 on one range and 900 on another, square range to 1270 yards and then another range to 1743.

I live in Ringgold and my wife and I are members at Dead Zero. Go up I-75N to Hwy 153. Then north to Hwy 27 towards Dayton but take 111 to Dunlap. Dead Zero is about 15 minutes past Dunlap on Cagle Mtn. Best money you'll ever spend! They electronic targets at 100. 200, 300. 600, 800 and 1000 yards as well as steel plates. They host numerous events monthly and Barrett holds classes there frequently. They also have an awesome pistol range, sporting clay ranges and 3D archery, plus an awesome firearms rental program and killer Pro Shop! Go check it out, might see you up there sometime.

That range in hazzard is a nice place to shoot, you can get to about 2300 yards if you move back to the ridge behind the platform.

Generally....isn't there 4 wheeler activity on that ridge?....and I've never been there when the platform was empty.....I haven't been there since Spring I think...maybe Summer....I need to get back down there...but it is about 3 hours South of me.

You guys would be more than welcome to shoot on the family range, if you were local.
As long as you leave gates as you found them, and a carton of beer for entry,

all good.
Never had anyone be a dickhead and abuse the privilege.
Off over there tomorrow.
3 days of stretching the .338 and finalising loads for the Tikka.
Feral bashing as well.😎🤠🎯🦊🐈🐇🦘

I'm in Chattanooga and remember one 1,000-yard range and also a tactical type range being in north Georgia, maybe 6 or 7 years ago. The tactical range used to have a website, but I haven't been able to locate either one on the internet recently myself and lost the directions. All of my 1,000 yard shooting has been at AEDC near Tullahoma, but I'm strongly considering joining Dead Zero. Awesome facilities like CNC and Guns & Water say above. Check out their website. https://deadzeroshooting.com/

Hey guys - "Welcome to Tennessee, the patron state of shooting stuff!"

I shot a LR F-classs match at Oak Ridge and found it to be one of the nicest ranges I have been to, and very nice folks also.
