Looks like the threads were cut loose and the red loctite with the dimples in the barrel were used to hold everything together.Poor machining but I'll bet the loctite made the rifle a 1/4 moa shooter .... :ROFLMAO:

You can tell the threads are shit but you know it's a cluster fuck when someone peens the shoulders face to "try" and give the impression of positive lock-up! My ass would have been fired many times over if I tried to pull that stunt where I work... I bet the can flopped around like a fish when the customer was screwing it on.

Shoulder dimples. That's a new one for me.
Most likely struck at an inward angle to "push" the metal in towards the threads and swell the last thread to tighten it up (It does work in some cases). When it didn't work the lock-tite came out...

Becoming a gunsmith you should have been a machinist for awhile unless you have CNC machines which you need to be able to write programs . Theres an art to machining metal and holding tolerances in mating components.

Was that a factory AI Rifle , asking for a friend....

So what’s the solution? Chop and start over?

If the guy butchered threads like that I wonder what the chamber looks like.... assuming he turned the barrel, anyway.

There are waaay too many people out there that start businesses that they're not qualified to operate. Sometimes, those business owners do very well and their customers have no idea how bad they got shafted until the shit hits the fan down the road. Sometimes they never even figure it out.

If someone charged for work like that they need to be exposed. It's one thing to have a flaw slip through QC. It's another to deliberately try to hide it like that by monkeyfucking around with loctite and whatever the hell those dimples are about. Now this guy is out a $1000+ can, a $200 tax stamp, the time and cost of having the problem fixed, and TBAC has to deal with this mess.

Hah you amatuers don't understand the brilliance here. Heat rises therefoe the top of the barrel will get hotter than the bottom causing uneven expansion and therefore deflection of the barrel due to heating up. Once this barrel gets to temp it will be straight as an arrow and a true tack driver.
