Maggie’s TSA Theater

I fly out of Hartsfield in Atlanta. Put your stuff in your bag but dont turn your back on it, especially when TSA is around. Damn thieves.
I dont have to deal with it because my happy ass get pulled into a little room, my checked bags show up, and I get the tenth degree. Yes, I'm on a list. No I dont know why. Not worth the hasssle to get removed.

Funny story, the pack I travel with is my range bag and is always covered with gunpowder residue. My wife and I go through the little scanner machine thing, and she gets flagged for presence of chemicals. Gets strip searched in a little room and has all these reactive strips passed over her hands and her handbag. Apparently its from her hair products and skin moisturizers. Meanwhile my multicam day pack covered in nitrocellulose skates right through. 🤷‍♂️

An acquaintance sells watches- nice watches

When he flys with inventory, he get to the airport 2 1/2 hours earlier than the rest of us...

If the TSA wants to open his locked bag and check inventory....
He requests a party of 3
2 TSA and one LEO for a private room.

One removes a watch, examines it, the second will return watch to an extra empty bag.
LEO or TSA Supervisor and him watch the 2 employees working. One watch at a time...

He calls the Airport police before each flight to get their advice. They normally give him a local number to call once at the airport if it is needed.... when you have 30-50 watches that retail between $3,500- $35,000 each... its a process...

Checking his gun in luggage is simple... Its the TSA checkpoint that is the pain

I loathe going through TSA. I went yesterday and was told I must remove my watch before going through the MM wave scanner.

Me: "Since when?"
TSA: "Since Covid."
Me: "That's not true. I've flown almost every week during this debacle and this is the first time I've ever been asked to remove my watch"
Her: Dumbfounded look.

Moral of the story: TSA people are fucking idiots and shouldn't be trusted to turn on an oven, much less be expected to keep anybody safe.
