How is Peterson’s brass quality? And does anyone have experience with their 280 rem brass? Looking at buying some as I’m a whore for low SD’s and ES’s as I would like to use this rifle for long range. Any insight would be greatly appreciated!

I appreciate it man. I’m having a hell of a time with my loads as well. Going to try and refind a different node or something because I’m having the same ES/SD problems. Thank you for the update on your experience man!Krob95, A few weeks ago you had asked me about the performance of Peterson brass, my response was limited due to not having spent a great deal of time with it. Since that time I have spent a great deal of time, over a week with my .280AI and Peterson brass. I started with a basic load just to get the feel of the brass and pressures. When I started loading it for serious accuracy I had a devil of a time getting good numbers ES of 65 and 70 and SD's way past 20 close to 30's. That isn't going to work. I annealed it and accuracy came in a tad better, but nothing I could live with and my numbers were still high. I tried resizing the necks again, no luck.
So, I changed bullets just to see, same issues and groups were pitiful. However, the Berger's did show a bit of improvement. After about 12 hours yesterday I grabbed a handful of brass and weighed it. In just 6 pieces there was 4 grains difference in weight !! Neck thicknesses were all over the map, so I quit even trying to make sense of that. My .260 brass isn't giving me much trouble, but I only use it to hunt with. Right now anything is hard to come by for reloading purposes. I did find .280 Remington brass and picked it up, it certainly can not be any worse. I hope you have not spent the money on Peterson brass. It is too late for a return so I guess I will weight sort, turn necks and see what happens. People want to compare Peterson to Lapua and Nosler brass. I think most other brass is better that Peterson at this point.
As a side note I used 4 different powders and 4 different primers to no avail and am using a known accuracy load from 2 PRS guy's. Sorry to be so wordy, but felt I should correct my previous comments.
Krob, I weight sorted 150 pieces and lost over 30 due to thatI appreciate it man. I’m having a hell of a time with my loads as well. Going to try and refind a different node or something because I’m having the same ES/SD problems. Thank you for the update on your experience man!
No sir. I stopped messing with it as I have an AI now that’ll consume all my time. Though I was going to sort all the brass by weight on my fx-120 and then change from magnum primers to CCI 200’s.Krob95,
Just checking to see if you have made ant headway with your Ackley in regards to high numbers. I made some improvements in the recent past (yesterday) with mine. Accuracy is yet to be fine tuned, but my numbers went down.
