Berger Bullet Max Charge Loads

Looked just about everywhere I can think of to find the max charge loads on the following (300/308) bullets (reloading 300-WM).

• Berger 175gr Target (30430)
• Berger 185gr Hybrid Target (30424)
• Berger 200gr 200.20xHybrid Target (30717)

Anyone got that handy? I didn't want to buy the $40 Berger Reloading Manual just to get those three numbers.

Side Note ... Hornady brass and SW4350 powder.

I have the Berger manual and I can tell you they have 0 shooters world powders listed. The link above is the best data you will get, unless you want to go the Quickload or Gordons reloading reloading tool method.

Yup ... I'd found that ... was hoping for specific bullet numbers, but I guess I'll take the grain closest to what I'm using, extrapolate a bit, and start with the midpoint between the averages.

They list a 168gr and a 180gr bullet and if I take the average of the four numbers (65-72.5 and 64-71.8) ... it gives me 68.3gr as a starting point for my Berger 175gr Target bullets.

That's probably a safe starting point. Anybody see any flaws in that logic?

Do they list for H4350 for those bullets? Since the SW4350 is slightly slower, it would likely be a safe and conservative starting point. Just curious ...

You could also call Berger on Monday. They should be able to give you a starting point at least.

Yes they do have H4350 and IMR4350 for the 175 and 185 bullets. I don't think it is safe to assume these are safe starting points, but it will give you more data on similar powders. There is data for a 180 grain jacketed bullet on both Hodgdon and shooters world data, I would compare that with what is listed below and you should be able to find a safe number to start with.
175 Target- H4350 66.0 starting, 69.7 max. IMR4350 65.0 starting, 68.5 max. Max velocity for both around 3025-3050 fps.
185 hybrid target- H4350 64.5 starting, 67.7 max. IMR4350 64.5 starting, 68.0 max. Max velocity for both around 2900 fps.

Edit: giving Berger a call is the safest route.
