Having just purchased a Bergara 6.5 PRC PREMIER RIDGEBACK, I wondered what happened to Bergara's inlaid bubble level that appeared in the initial production run of this rifle with its Grayboe Ridgeback stock. I contacted Bergara and asked why the level no longer is offered. Below is their reply today.
Frankly, the location of their previously inlaid level was not in an ideal or even easy to see position, IMHO. Just thought you guys might like to see their explanation...

Is the picture their reply? Or am I missing something?

Hi Guys. I am here and the one that replied to the OP's question. We removed the feature as i mentioned in my response above because it was not as accurate we we had hoped. The first run of guns had the level but that was discontinued as we moved forward with the production of this model. Having a feature on the rifle that did not perform as we thought it should and could cause the end user accuracy issues while shooting if relying on it was not worth leaving on the rifle. We want the rifle to perform as well as possible and the level while a cool option was not helping that happen in its current configuration so we changed it to produce the best product we could. It was a great ideal but when it did not perform as we expected we decided it was better to have no level than one that did not perform.

If anyone has questions or needs help with a Bergara product you can message me here or reach me at [email protected] or call me at 770-449-4687.

Have a great Christmas.
