I have a great shooting .22 Anschuz which currently has a 12x Weaver scope. I want to get a scope with more magnificaion in order to take shots out to 100-200 yards. Will a 25x scope with a 1” tube get it done or do I need to step up to a 32x with a 30mm tube?

Thanks for your time.

Most 1" tube scopes lack enough elevation travel for shooting at 200Y. The other annoying thing that happens is that when a scope is at the extremes of its travel the image quality degrades.

Minimum I'd go 30mm and get an angled base of 20 moa.

Most cheap scopes don't have the glass to pull off 32x well so that is also something to think about. Couple that with mirage and 32x gets nasty.

I'd personally spend the $$$ and buy a Athlon Midas TAC 6-24x50. Call Cameraland and ask Doug for a SH discount.

30mm tube for sure. As far as 25x or 32x goes, that would depend on the target size you are going to try and hit. For example, KYL targets would be easier to see with a 32x considering all else was equal.

But then again, I wouldn't feel handicapped with this Weaver T36 with a 1" tube.
