Flu glo.....blue light....bingo, will find any corneal scratch.
A few years ago I had a piece of pine straw come down out of a tree and hit my eye like a dart. It tore a triangle shaped flap in my eye.

Went to the eye doc who told me it would heal on its own in a few days.

After a few days of discomfort, it healed up like he said. I thought I was blinded when it happened 😮
 
Yeah, the guy in the van would see a thousand beautiful sights and you would would get to the end with high blood pressure and pissed off and the only thing you'd remember is his license plate and bumper.
They do make racetracks.
My car corners great, Id have fun on this road. My luck id get stuck behind some dumbfuck, in a van going 10mph 🤬😡🤬😡🤬😡🤬, Im cussing in my head already.

Come on now. You're exaggerating.
Mulholland, the Dragon and quite a few others have monuments to the fast and furious. What really fucks up those places is waiting on the ambulance and wreckers to clean up the mess because someone thought they were Michael Schumacher or Freddy Spencer.

My favorite is the "Family Beer & Liquor" sign, middle left margin. Shot in Indonesia in the late eighties, location was a zoo where the crocodile pond was surrounded in graded concrete; a glaring oversight for the safety of strollers and wheelchairs. Made a great picture however.

long story short, one night leading the boys up a road we frequented, came out of a left hander and flipped it into a right hander where a wallaby came out from the left. lucky my eyes caught it coming, i stood the bike up and made impact. stood up on the pegs to see if i could see any damage, checked brakes and so on then sat down and put the hammer down again. once pulled over i found it cracked my fairing near the air intake. mate told me i hit it at the tail.

coming back down hill this time leading again, little too much trail braking into a right hander where i ran wide. ended up in the gravel still under power riding it like a dirty bike. somehow i got it back on the road and threw it down for a 45km (just shy of 28 miles) corner. got down to a township where we usually behaved. looked over my shoulder to see one of my mates shaking his head with his cheeks almost popping out of his helmet to try and tell me i was crazy.

got back to the servo where we fill up and another, hero i call him, came up and asked if i was at my limit as he has never seen me ride so fast. i replied with, i didn't fall so i don't know if i was at my limit or not.

i was the only one on a 600, the rest were all 1000's and we had 2 busas that night also.

no i have never been that stupid since. i also suffer motion sickness but that night i suffered nothing nor was their any fear felt hitting the wallaby or running wide into the gravel. a dickhead who i don't speak to anymore told me i had nothing to prove on the road. somehow he thought i was out to prove something on a smaller bike. track days were fun but i have never been able to push my bike there as my insurance does not cover track days.

now having had shoulder surgery, i doubt i would ever be able to ride like that again nor will anyone see me on a harley. chrome don't help if the bike can't corner.

been many years since i visited the track. these same tyres i scrubbed in at the track and cooked them the sane day. since then they feel like i am power sliding in every corner when i am taking it easy. have metzler racetec to go on my other wheels but have little energy to ride it these days. shoulder is taking way too long to recover from what i was told by the surgeon and physio.
 

Love the 39 Chevy.

I'd never been able to decide which of the 1930s Chevys I liked best, until a few weeks ago when I discovered 1939 Chev Master Deluxe abandoned in a gully at the bottom of a steep valley down the back of the property. It's a rarity in the Chev lineup, being a pickup body. Now we have a winner.

They were shipped here from the factory in the US in FKD form and a local firm, Holden's Motor Body Builders built the Utility Body as it was called here.
When WW2 started, the HMBB factory stopped civilian production, including the Master Deluxe Utility and switched to defence.

HMBB was later bought out by GM and became General Motors Holden

This one's been saved from going all the way to the bottom by an outcrop of decomposed granite but is perched precariously on it's side and partly buried under 30yrs of farm trash.

It's slightly below ground level so I have put in some wire rope stays to keep it stable while I dig a bench beside it, onto which I can set it upright.

It's been on it's right side for at least 30 years, once it's upright I'll know whether I have a rat rod project or a parts harvesting project.
The plan is to set it upright, then putting the soil I dig out for the bench over the remains of the concrete tank I smashed up for base fill, I can make a ramp.
To prevent the truck from digging into the fresh soil I'll lay down the old corrugated iron roofing sheets that partly covered it as a surface and start pulling.
No shortage of trees for snatch block anchors.

Just below it, caught on a bigger outcrop is an early 30s British Bedford flatbed, upside down, the cab and guards have taken a hit but the rest is in remarkably good condition.

Getting him out is going to be a much bigger challenge, the Chev I can do with the snatch blocks and the winch on my Range Rover but the Bedford is too heavy and too deep and the location precludes anything much bigger, being at the bottom of a 40 degree slope. It rained the other day while I was digging and I had to use the diff locks to get out.

If the body is as good as it seems, I'll put it on a later GMH 1 tonne flatbed chassis and do some customizing.

Surprisingly, after who knows how long since it was last used the drivetrain is still free. The engine is gone and I turned the input shaft on the gearbox the other day, it not only turns freely by hand but turns the hubs.
