Before everyone gets up in arms, and calling for what should happen next, I'd suggest reading this article. Food for thought...

Excellent post, excellent article. History is the greatest teacher. If this society would spend more time studying history rather than trying rewrite or erase it, we certainly wouldn’t be in the mess we are in.

History didn’t being the day we were born.

Article is from September 22nd. EVERYTHING changed Wednesday. Our 1st Amendment is literally under attack as never seen before in our history. There's a reason there's so many parallels. History doesn't repeat it leaves an echo.

    Did you pass American History?

It does not really matter. Event are already set in motion.

First, remember that we are at the solstice of the fourth turning, which pretty much means bloodshed.

The Fourth Turning is a Crisis. Old Artists die, Prophets enter elderhood, Nomads enter midlife, Heroes enter young adulthood—and a new generation of child Artists is born. This is an era in which America’s institutional life is torn down and rebuilt from the ground up—always in response to a perceived threat to the nation’s very survival. Civic authority revives, cultural expression finds a community purpose, and people begin to locate themselves as members of a larger group. In every instance, Fourth Turnings have eventually become new “founding moments” in America’s history, refreshing and redefining the national identity. America’s most recent Fourth Turning began with the stock market crash of 1929 and climaxed with World War II.

In Parsons’ terms, a Fourth Turning is an era in which the availability of social order is low, but the demand for such order is high. Examples of earlier Fourth Turnings include the Civil War in the 1860s and the American Revolution in the 1770s—both periods of momentous crisis, when the identity of the nation hung in the balance.

Also Martin Armstrong, a student of history, has put his model many years ago. Notice the dates.

It looks like the destiny is already set in stone. What we can do is to prepare for it.

it is scary with the socialists now in almost complete control of the popular narrative.

You didn't come up with that yourself. Plagurism will even get you kicked out of Berkeley, which is where your statement originated. All you did was add the "scary" part.

You changed it to "shiftless". I pointed out it said "dumbass" and you attack me, bro? You do realize dumbass and shiftless are synonyms. I'm just trying to help you.

i did make it up, but i started out saying "liberals" but i don't consider them "liberals" anymore because they are crazier than that.
i also added "almost" because that is more accurate.

What you are describing is plagurism.

It is very confusing when people describe themselves as shiftless or dumbass. What am I to believe? The statues are coming at the fourth turn during the solstice because the holocaust occurred in South Carolina? Seriously, I'm not quite following.

Linked article is a load of tripe.

Designed to placate the rightfully ruffled feathers of the Constitution loving citizens of the US. Implying it is far better to simply roll over and accept the socialist coup and take over of our country that just occurred.

i didn't steal anyone's words, or recall them and make them my own, although i'm sure i am not the only one to think this or say it.

So, you have read To Kill a Mockingbird.

Ruffling feathers is not a coup. The Immaculate Reception was a catch and the feud between the Raiders and Steelers continue. The Cowboys were never in the game.

I doubt that was the core intent of the article. Steve_In_29, please reconsider your analysis.

Considering the date that it was written, the original intended audience, the use of historical parallels between current actions and past ones by comparing violent socialist and communist movements of the past century with the BLM Movements of today against the backdrop of the recent riots of the past summer, I do not believe his intent was to placate anyone defying a “socialist coup” that just occurred.

Please refer to his last sentence of the 1st paragraph of section titled History Repeating:
“One would be remiss to ignore the obvious similarity between the 1900s Black Hands/Young Bosnia, and the 2020 growth of ANTIFA and other movements.”

Also please consider, that Phillip Nelsen is a business law instructor at the Salt Lake Community College, an attorney specializing in business law, a strong supporter of 2a rights and a CCL instructor certified by the NRA. Lest we go bashing the Community College angle, please be aware, that Professor Nelson does not teach because he must, he does so because he chooses to offer his time by continuing to contribute to society. Philip Nelsen is a successful entrepreneur that has cashed out on his past business successes and hardly what one would describe as a socialist.

    Please review the following article:

Take additional note of the section of the above referenced Forbes article titled “Committing To Gun Rights”.

This post is a load of tripe.

Designed to provoke the constitution loving citizens of snipers hide. Implying we take up arms against the government over a real or imagined conspiracy theory that was the 2020 election.

The most telling paragraph in the article was:

So what is the appropriate manner to enact large-scale societal reform? As I told my student, I don't know, and neither do you. History has shown that efforts towards quick (i.e. immediate) reform have led to violence more often than not, often significant violence. I am certain, however, that the probability random acts of violence will result in the type of outcome you hope for, is zero (unless of course the outcome you desire is more chaos and violence, which may well be the case). You are a child hitting a nuclear reactor with a hammer. You will not fix it, you will most certainly only make it worse.

Paraphrase: Slow change is safer than rapid and whipsnapped change. I have concerns if this is true.

Guys, take a Saturday night beer and calm down.
I'm a believer in cycles, and I think there is some truth in what these people has discovered.
Read at least this page and tell me it's complete BS
The book is getting into much more dept, and I admit that some part is interesting (the history and cycles) and the archetypes is less interesting for me.

About the WW1, being born and educated in Europe, it had a bigger part in our history books. It is indeed frightening how fast everything can go to hell.

Europeans are taught misinformation about WW1.

they blame everything on "nationalism" and "German aggression".

    neither are true causes.

in general, people are taught propaganda in order to create the biases and sentiments that the global rulers want us to have, in order to make us more tractable.

Of course, if we were not brainwashed, who would fight their wars?
The secret is to read beyond their propaganda.

Europeans were taught misinformation about the beginning of WW1 or are being taught misinformation about WW1?

Umm... both. Since Germans lost, they were made the bad guys. I'm not aware of school manuals to mention that the shooter was a marxist.
Germans are painted as bad guys, but my parents in WW2 were children and they told stories that german soldiers were giving them food and chocolate. Russian soldiers when they came rape the women, steal the food and burn the houses. But you don't find this in official history books.

There are plenty of folks alive today that heard first hand stories from their grandparents about the horrors and atrocities the occupying German forces did in their countries.

The Soviet armies were just as bad if not worse when they came to town.
