Friday night thread: Karen takes the ride for not wearing a mask

The evolution of the name 'Karen':

2017: A white woman with a distinct hairstyle from a reality TV show who is extroverted and quite vocal about her wants and opinions. Sometimes annoying, hence the blanket term 'Karen'.

2018: Any woman, race not mattering, though usually white, who is obnoxiously vocal and demands to "see the manager" for any perceived substandard treatment at various establishments.

2019: Any woman, once again, race not mattering but usually white, who is a general busybody and always tries to virtue signal about being a goody-two-shoes. From standing in grocery store lines to HOA codes to parking etiquette.

2020: Any woman, race not mattering, who acts out, creates a scene, or otherwise attracts attention in public...

Oh and by the way, Karen pronounced in Chinese, ke ren, (客人) means "guest"...

We can’t forget the Karen cut!

She might want her cell phone Now. I want to see her spread eagle NOW!

So Karen aside, was the cop wrong? I understand if the store had a policy. But, does store policy supersede law? If so, then another example we can see for instance is when a bakery refuses to bake a wedding cake for a gay couple? Because the store’s policy is we don’t bake cakes for gays..... arent there laws against such biased practices? the easy answer just your business elsewhere. But sometimes it’s not that simple.
that said, its pretty clear that while really doing nothing to stop viruses, they give the wearer a false sense of security And safety. And for big box stores to remain open while small businesses get shuttered, they do whatever the gov’t tells them.

I walked to the entrance of my regular store (HEB for fellow Texans), realized I forgot my mask and knowing I just needed a couple things and could grab them and go, said fuck it and did just that.

I did get one nasty look from a Karen, her beady eyes glaring at me over her mask, but other than that no fucks were given all around.

The bakery finally won that lawsuit.

Karen wasn't arrested on a mask violation. She was asked to leave private property and did not, so was tresspassed. She then disobeyed the lawful order by the cop to leave and was arrested for that.

The store had the right to tell her to go, the cop had the right to tell her to leave, and upon her disobeying that order had the right to arrest her.

Here is the fucked up part: The state has an interest in squashing this flavor of resistance, so Karen will probably spend more hours in jail than someone who is there for a drug charge or property crime.

Ok Ken.

Ken - Male version of Karen who looks for things to complain to the manager about.

Oh shit, did I bind yer G string?

I imagine after watching her stand up for her rights, you felt like such a cuck, you had to run to the internet to console your self by trying to belittle her. At the end of the day, maybe she is more of a man than you. Maybe she is the Ken and you are Karen.

At what point do we not allow places to deny people nessasry services based on illegal laws? We can not have mask mandates with out legislation. Without the illegal mandate no store is going to try to make anyone wear a mask, except maybe employees. But without the mandates, employees wouldn't be going for it either. Its funny will can all sit here and know its dead wrong, do nothing about it, and even justify it.

So where do masks fall when we talk about discriminating agnist those who don't or can't wear them. If I had a breathing disorder I would be looking for these stores kicking people out like a crack head looks for a wet floor with no sign.

Although stores are private property. The building are often build with tax payer dollars, then they are given tax breaks for years. As well as paying much lower rates for utilities. Especially big box stores. Its funny how not free, our "free market" is.

Whatever Ken, blah blah blah...
Do you wake up every day acting like a little bitch or is it just that time of the month?

As usual, you missed the point entirely.

Can a business say, "We don't serve black people"...No it cannot.

Can a business say, " You are drunk and we don't serve drunks"...yes it can. As fucked up as it is, masks fall into the latter category.

You making it equivalent of the former is your opinion and not supported by either case law or common practice.

I hate it as much as you do, but there is nothing illegal here.

Here is the fuckery...the state puts demands on the business as a condition of keeping thier license. This is a regulatory power, not a legal one. The business does not have to comply under penalty of law, but if they want to keep operating then they damn well better.

So, two completely separate issues. The heavy handed non-judicial pressure applied to commerce, resulting in actual legal enforcement at the consumer level.

It's almost like the commies had this shit planned...right?

This lady is resisting all this shit, but doing it in the most ineffective way. She is basically trying to push a rope up hill.

The problem is at the top, and until you make those motherfuckers back down, you ain't accomplishing a fucking thing.

Important questions:
Why was this subject asked to leave?
Was it just a stepping stone to enforce unreasonable expectations on said?
Are there other things not enforced because it isn't popular opinion?
Has anyone seen blatant shop lifting unenforced?
Any guesses why?
Would this lead you to believe policy isn't being enforced equally?
I find instances like this humorous.

I dunno. All I know is she was saying 'no no no', while her boobs were saying 'yes yes yes.'

Nothing is ever fair. The fucking health department and code enforcers aren't out prowling the city looking for shop lifters.

The mask mandate is being enforced by the business because either A) the business owner is a lefty faggot true believer...or B) the business owner can't afford thousands of dollars in fines and other punitive bullshit.

Civil rights act 1964 is unconstitutional, masks are a security blanket are Karen is a cunt.

What right? The right to be in private property when a representative of the owner tells you to leave?

In my state that right is called criminal trespass, a misdemeanor in the 4th degree.

My post isn't about fair.
It was to display blatant differences in policy.
Wonder who will fine the businesses?
Between mask rules and shop lifting which is costing the retailers the most?

Having watched this video, I have a new found respect for Police officers. I also realized that I could never be one, because I would have maced that cow right in her pie hole.
And I understand that sort of thing is generally frowned on.

We've gone to mandatory mask wearing for first time in Perth.
So what.
I'd rather wear a mask and assist in protecting my community, than be a selfish knobhead, and rant about "My Rights".
I've have close friends that have had to watch their parents funerals via Skype , because they can't go back to UK for the funeral.
I'm over the conspiracy fuckheads, and cunts that think only of their own rights.
That "Karen" deserves a drop kick in the slat.
It's only a mask.
Most people should have their faces covered anyway..... ugly, smashed crab faced fuckers.

When 90 percent wear cloth masks it ruins the moral high ground argument.
Proven ineffectual.
To dense to see the reason you've had your semi autos taken was about "safety"
As well.

The masks that everyone is being forced to wear, WON'T protect you or anyone else from the scary corona virus.

You would be way better off without the safety diaper on your face and simply having a a fair bit of personal space and practicing basic cleanliness.
Also maybe if employers were forced to let workers take time off with pay if they felt sick rather than forcing them to head back to work like they used to do.

Even the experts are now starting to quietly admit that this corona is never going away and we'll just learn to get used to it.

It's only a mask, It's only being imprisoned in your homes, it's only being kept away from being around other humans, it's only.......
Screw that!

Down there you are all freaked out about a couple cases and what do you have for a year of destroying your lives? any change, NOPE!

Meanwhile look up the case numbers in Texas, we have so many, almost nobody really cares about it anymore & we get on with life and most folks recover just fine, a very small amount of unlucky ones die. Some folks do the mask thing, some folks don't.

Wonder who will fine the businesses?
In WA state it is the health department.

Between mask rules and shop lifting which is costing the retailers the most?
Fines here have been in excess of $5K, with the threat of pulling the business license if non-compliant. Pretty sure being able to open your doors everyday trumps petty theft on the list of concerns.

Most of the above was rhetorical.

Except, if you do your homework, you’ll learn than anything less than a full blown respirator won’t actually aid in stopping the spread, yet a bandanna is considered an acceptable face covering.
Congrats. You’re not a Muslim woman, covering your face for no other reason than someone better than you told you to.
