Does anyone make a 40MOA rail for a Sako quad? I have the 0moa DIP and running out of elevation. However it’s the only one that comes up on my Google fu.

I looked at these for my sako, ended up just going with 0MOA

With the Burris and the other MOA rings, the problem you’ll find is one that will attach to the dovetail, or some need to be spread out further than these rifles can accommodate.

Area 419 makes a 30 MOA that clamps to the dovetail vs the DIP with set screws. It’s on order and should be here in a few days. I’ll report back once I give it a run through the ringer.

Contact Murphy Precision. He made a 40+ MOA Sako Quad rail for me on a special order. Top shelf fit n finish.

+10 on Murphy Precision. If you haven't received and/or mounted your Area419 30 MOA Rail and really want/need a 40 MOA Rail order a custom Rail from Murphy Precision. I had Cameron (Murphy) machine a 45 MOA Titanium Rail for my euroOptic Sako Quad Special Edition to mount a PMII 5-25X[56] Gen 2 XR .01 MIL CCW on three years ago, and it works great. Murphy machines in Stainless Steel & Titanium and his bases & rings are available in a natural finish or coated in KG GunKote. I opted to have Cameron (Murphy) leave my Rail in-the-white, as I was going to have it CeraKoted in Graphite Black to match the rest of the action on my Quad.

NOTE: Unlike the standard profile Murphy Precision Sako Quad Rail that Starbuck (and now I) linked to, I had Cameron (Murphy) machine a big cutout on the ejection port side of the Rail for enhanced port access on my Rail. If you want the cutout you have to inform Cameron before he machines your Rail. See photos below of my Rail in-the-white as well as mounted on my Quad after CeraKoting.

Like the DIP Products Rail, the Murphy Precision Rail is grooved to slide onto the 11mm dovetail of the Quad's receiver and uses eight (8) set screws to secure the Rail to the Receiver. As the set screws are tightened they bottom on the top of the Receiver, exerting upward pressure on the Rail and pull the rail tight against the dovetail. The screws are brass-tipped, so the serrations on the top of the Receiver bite into the brass and hold the Rail solidly. Obviously, this can't be as secure as a bolt or screw threaded through the rail and into the Receiver (like the discontinued USO 20 MOA Quad unit did), but so far it's held 46+ oz. of PMII, ARD, and Rings just fine.

In-the-white Murphy Precision Sako Quad 45 MOA Titanium Rail as I received it, complete with hex wrench and extra brass-tipped screws. Thanks Cameron!

Very nice! The 419 arrived, the way it clamps to the rail I feel is superior to the DIP style. However it arrived and had to leave for work. Should be home Thursday and get scope mounted for match on Sunday.

Initial impressions of the 419 rail were very well machined and designed. It’s a straight rail with no cutout for the ejection port. Definitely stiffer than the DIP. Clamp up to the 11mm factory rail was precise and rock solid. No gap between the bottom of the rail and the top of the receiver like with the DIP. Level in the back of the base matched the level across flats. All good there.

Another thing I noticed was the left to right adjustment was centered with the 419. Had to go 2 turns in from where it was far right on the DIP rail.

The 6.5-20EFR leupold has limited internal adjustment. No problem now getting out to 150 with it.

An option are the Accuracy International one piece Dovetail Mounts. They have an 11mm dovetail which will fit Sako's, Anshutz, CZ and others. They are very well made and can be had in O, 18, 28 and 45 MOA cants.
