It would be great if we could pass a law making it like the old days where the good guys wore white hats and the bad guys wore black hats, but then they would all have to wear black hats, we couldn't identify them, and they wouldn't follow the laws anyway.

Somebody once remarked that true white privilege was not having to act like an apologist for murders and rapists who were your own color. I'm not sure it has anything to do with privilege, but it is quite a telling image of our society. And one I'd prefer to maintain, rather than to start to treat all the assholes as heroes, as long as they are our assholes.

Must not have had enough coffee yet. I had a hard time following your second statement.

I question the notion that there was a time when the good and bad guys were so easily identifiable. In another thread, you had a statement to the outlining that all groups of people having their own special batch of human shit. I agree.

A common trait of successful examples of human societies is the desire and will to excise that human shit from the ranks and take necessary steps to prevent it from reoccurring. You must be willing to acknowledge its existence to do so. If this parallel sentiment to your own, then I also agree with you here.

I meant old cowboy movies, which is how a lot of people seem to approach the complexities of the world. :)

As to the second, what the original statement was remarking on was the left's willingness to be apologists for rapists and murderers, as long as they were black, and therefore defensible. In my opinion it has done no good for the black community, or anybody else. Basically the story of a lot of these "victims" like the one in Kenosha. And how, in general, that is not a characteristic of any other group in society. It is our privilege that we don't defend those "like" us who do awful things. I think that is changing, and we are becoming apologists for the garbage on our side, and I would prefer that not to be the case.

At least, that is how I read it. It just struck me.

There is this thing called "Light".

"Light" your flag and you can wear your heart on your sleeve so to speak 24/7/365.

If I may add,
Please find the attached Public Law 94-344, known as the Flag Law. It contains the etiquette for our Flag.

Note, that the supreme court ruled that these laws were barred from enforcement by the 1st amendment, but it still makes you a shit to intentionally disrespect the flag.

Also note, If you intend to respect the flag, be disciplined in doing so. You can't pick and choose what you want to follow.

Call me old fashioned, but this is why I cringe when well meaning people drape the flag about themselves, use it in advertisements, and weave it into their clothing.

The most common violation:
"The flag should never be used for advertising purposes in any manner whatsoever. It should not be embroidered on such articles as cushions or handkerchiefs and the like, printed or otherwise impressed on paper napkins or boxes or anything that is designed for temporary use and discard."

Wholeheartedly agree with your preference.

At least, that is how I read it. It just struck me.

It was not my intent to imply that the person in that picture was somehow behaving in an respectable manner. I lack the writing skill necessary to convey comedic intent. I'll keep working on it.

I did not know that, though it doesn't help since our flag is a few miles from our house, where we have electricity.

Oh God, where has this fuckstain been?

Well than without light you will have to do the up down thing.

Bring a robotic bugle with you and play Reveille and Retreat as you do it....

Got the scum.

METH MUCH? Or maybe that's the look he got when he realized his cellmate Bubba likes virgin sphincter.

Maybe they should give out the joints before the shot, set up a little tent smoke it up then go get your jab.
I can assure you that thousands of green n purple hair fat 20 and 30 something fat chicks in pajamas are lined up for their reward doobie!

Curious what flag pole you'd recommend if you actually "raise" your flag. I noticed a guy down the street had a collapsible one which was pretty neat.

@BytorJr

Ive bought flag stuff from these guys...

They sell quality USA made stuff, at least the stuff I bought.

They have an assortment of poles residential as well as commercial.

Prices seem reasonable at a variety of options.

Can also get a solar spotlight. I know that many do that here. Would need to mount on pole if the throw isn't long enough

Make sure the kit has redundant "anti fouling" engineering built in or you will just frustrate yourself.

My flag pole has a ball bearing at the base so the whole pole can rotate.

Than the swivels I use to attach the flag on the pole have a rotating section.

For the most part my house set up stays untangled.

Fouled Flags are a bummer.

These influential articles were used extensively by media organizations to push the natural origins theory, while simultaneously deriding alternative theories—including that of a possible lab leak—as conspiracy theories.

The articles appear to have been part of a coordinated effort originating from a Feb. 1, 2020, teleconference organized by Dr. Anthony Fauci, director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID), and Dr. Jeremy Farrar, director of the British Wellcome Trust, which took place after a group of health officials scrambled in late January 2020 to respond to public reporting of a potential connection between COVID-19 and the Wuhan Institute of Virology in China.

Following the officials’ conversations, public discussion of the source possibly being a lab leak was actively suppressed by social media platforms, health officials, and the World Health Organization (WHO).

The last GA ballets that were being guarded the off duty cops guarding them left and then it was discovered the door to the facility was wide open.

Beginning to think its all a giant "Gaslighting" job to demoralize "the resistance".

One day we hear something positive than the next something totally inept and stupid comes along to fuck up anything positive.

or...

We wait with baited expectation as we are told "This is some real news being learned..."

Than the report says "Nothing happened." or if something did happen "No one is guilty because they didnt intend to commit the crime."

Nothing will happen until enough people are desperate, hungry, losing any sense of comfort.

Ok, which one of you asshats is responsible for the planning of the armed insurrection of the capitol on 1/6? According to the senate investigation Trump extremists planned an armed takeover of the capitol. Lmao. Well, I didn’t see anything of the sort and if someone did plan and execute that then they really really sucked at it lmao. Very sad. I’m sure this is some made up BS simply to make every Trump supporter look bad tho. However, the sheeple will buy it hook line and sinker.

the problem with that entire theory... is the only weapon people brought to the capital was the American Flag. I know the mere sight of it frightens some congressmen...

Here are the ongoing clinical trials for the Pfizer and Moderna vaccines.

Pfizer:
Started - April 29th, 2020
Ends - May 2nd, 2023

Moderna:
Start - July 27th, 2020
End - October 27th, 2022

If you took the jab, rest easy knowing these guys are hard at work seeing if you should have or not. I have no words other than LOL.

Looking at the positive - after a combined 300M doses administered so far, at least we will get to the end of these trials without any doubts concerning the trial size :cautious:

not endorsing, just sharing

IIRC, the spike protein by itself can attack ACE2 receptors, and there are substantial number of those receptors in the testes and associated plumbing.

Ultimately, the real flaw with the vaccines is probably not the delivery mechanism or the compressed test and release schedule, but rather the very method by which it stimulates an immune system response - by causing the synthesis and release of a known pathogen (the spike protein). Doing something with the nucleocapsid protein would likely have been a better path - potentially fewer adverse side effects and better immunity.

I got a 45 degree off the side of the house display. Kind of lame as 3x5 is the biggest flag it will fly with room for the Gadsden below.

I lust for a real pole though, no inuendo intended.

There are a lot of offerings out there and it seems you get what you pay for.

When I was in the flag shop yesterday picking up the Annin they had some setups on display.

I was surprised to see that the ground sleeve they use was only about a 24 inch fiberglass tube just slightly bigger than the pole base.

Living in the Northeast Im used to seeing shit dug below front line....4 foot minimum.

Flag guy said key to flag install is bedding the sleeve in sand for water drainage. The pole itself is only slid into the sleeve and they add some sand to fill the slight cavity between sleeve and pole.

I have the idea of finding a sweet, straight "lodgepole" pine or cedar than just "barking" it, smooth it some and paint it white.

Mount it in a "fork" type mount so when held by two bolts you can rotate it down and paint it every once in a while.

Add a cleat and pulley...home made flag pole not unlike the captured British ships mast that was used to fly our first National Flag on Prospect Hill, Somerville....

If you want to do a plain wood pole, the best wood to use is locust, imho. it will "last one day longer than a stone" is the old swamp yankee saying. my parents had one in the house I grew up in and now my sister lives there. They moved the flagpole, but it's still original, just painted every few years. It is definitely over 55 yrs old...

But they are a real tree.....not your rail straight pine you just need to strip the bark on.

That must be a pretty solid flag pole if carved from a typical locust.
