Why does that matter?

ELITE TACTICAL 6-36X56 XRS3 RIFLESCOPE G4 RETICLE Is this the one your waiting for ? It retails for 1/2 the price of a ATCAR . Specs say Japan is the country of origin . So for me,that's very good. German/Austrian and Japanese glass is the best.

I am sure the XRS3 6-36 will do very well, but at 1/3 the cost of the ZCO I do not expect it to be close. ZCO is proven, XRS3 is brand new design, early adopters beware especially at the price point. Almost every manufacturer works out kinks from early release. And that’s if you can even get the scope in the first 6 months, I expect it to be sold out for quite some time.

Ive owned a Gen2 xrs (didnt like the g3 reticle), Looked thru a ZCO, owned and currently own a ATACR, and currently own a S&B. I think comparing the ZCO and XRS is like comparing a Corvette and a Camaro, Now if the Gen3 glass is what it is hyped up to be then it will be like comparing a corvette with a zL1 camaro. The ATACR is not all its hyped up to be IMO and for the money its going to be hard to beat the Bushnell.

It's definitely not from China.

All I am going to say is this - I let a couple of ZCO shooters look through an XRS3 prototype a while back. Every one of them had a reaction along the lines of "Holy shit."

So the XRS should outperform the ZCO (or NF, for that matter) dollar for dollar?

Dollar for dollar would be no contest, IMO. To my eyeballs, there was VERY little difference in the XRS3 and ZCO (realizing that as always, it's subjective to the eyeball involved and the conditions they're compared in), and I can't see how it's possible to justify over double the price of an XRS3.

Maybe I'm a weirdo. Maybe I'm the lucky dude that the Bushnell coatings just pair up really well to my eyes. I'm sure someone will say I have no idea WTF I am talking about, though.

I don’t care where it’s from. I was just answering what his face as to why it might matter. You can’t say it’s an atacr killer or zco killer, and then when someone ask where is it made say “why does it matter?” Defensive posturing makes me think they are full of shit and in the “it’s just as good” crowd.

I mean, who cares. As long as it performs. It could very well be an atacr killer. Nothing defensive about that.

The other item to clarify is looking through.....

If you haven't looked through both under the same low light conditions your not seeing the full shine if the ZCO.

I love the atacr platform but when you have them side by side under low light the ZCO is noticeably better.

How many people are actually using then in low light conditions beyond a cloudy, overcast day? I know some people are hunting with them, but I'd bet the majority of LR shooters will never care about anything beyond a cloudy day for low light.

I don't think they will be close. I have not seen the Bushnell yet but I have done a side by side comparison with the Mark5 and ZCO, not even close.

Don't disagree but there are matches that start early/late and in some shaded areas that create low light needs.

I saw pictures of a match in northern new Hampshire that shooting location is deep forest that can be dark on a sunny day let alone a cloudy rainey day.

ZCO is expensive, and the separation vs dollars might not be there, but to say they are the same is what I was calling out.

How far apart is a ATCAR between a ZCO ? A sales Tech at Scope list says a S& B PM2 is slightly better that an ATCAR

Not even close, especially being so close in price. I have an ATACR and a S&B PM2, the PM2 is hands down better than the NF. I put the ZCO next to my S&B at a match a couple of months ago and there really wasnt that much difference to make me want to upgrade plus I like my H59 reticle for PRS.

And…exactly why is the Mark 5 applicable in this discussion? Just because it’s also made in Japan??

price point and popularity and most likely very similar performance overall.
I guess that remains to be seen, but then this whole thread is largely conjecture except for the one or two comments from people that have actually been behind the new Bushnell already.

Frankly, it would surprise me if the ZCO is a fair comparison, but I think that the KF 7-35 ATACR is a fair comparison from what I’m seeing. But like all things conjecture, time will tell the story. Before that it’s all just mental masturbation.

Well I just bought a Demo ATACR 7-35x56mm for $3050 ,that's what my budget allows . Its a significant up grade from Athlon Cronus

I've been in that situation a few times, and it's never been an issue for me with Bushnells, but again - situation subjective, etc.

Sure hope I can get an XRS 3 by Sept......probably dreaming..........

Maybe.

That dude looks familiar. If it's who I think it is, he's a giant nerd.

at that price you are almost at a ZCO lol....but hey, you get to do a side by side very soon and we can throw in a Mark5 too, will be fun
Well I also shoot in the 600 and 1000 yd matches . So a significant improvement. Sales Tech at CS Tactical says the glass is better in the ZCO but not by much. plus $4,000 bucks and less magnification then what I have .

its not ZCO price either, unfair to compare the two
I’m not comparing them at all, just saying once I get used to one level of performance I’m usually unhappy using stuff below that level.
I have no issues with my bushy spotter but I can guarantee if I had a A Swaro with a reticle I’d probably never use the bushy again.
Once I got my Cronus I abandoned my cheapo vortex like a fat girl once I nutted and sobered up a bit.

Another way to think about it: you’re almost at a 4th Bushnell that’s just as good.
