Secession poll

it will tough for people living along the new border. you can live according to your sides laws BUT
BUt
make a wrong turn and it could go downhill real quick
example
if your a libtart don't be carrying drugs and looking for a safe needle shooting spot and make a wrong turn and go into the conservative section. your going to be taken in.
also
if your a conservative
don't be on your way to church carrying your pistol and make a wrong turn into the SBSA
at this point
the gov'ts will have to arrange an exchange centers one for one.
these are just two examples of the too numerous scenarios we are sure to face.

China already has subverted our government, inflicted uncalculated intangible losses via Wuhan, has had our lunch and working on dinner....
F the Chinese. They import grain from us because they cannot feed themselves. While they slap together the latest i-phone in a few high tech cities, the majority of their empire walks behind oxen carts. The only power they have currently is by virtue of our greed.

The south was an agrarian economy with little industry and few natural resources that the north needed.

Today it's about as 180 degrees from that as anyone can imagine.

Not to mention that if things come to blows, it won't be two organized armies duking it out across fields. It will be much more personal.....shall we say?
I hate to rain on your parade but the north still beats the south from a GDP standpoint

Florida only ranks high due to tourism

i have advocated for a separation for awhile now.
it would actually be very easy and i would think both the progressives and conservatives would go for it,
on the surface it would still be the united states
but there would be two distinctly different gov'ts governing their respective side
one side could be the progressive utopia they dream and jerk off too.
the other side would be the conservative backwoods paradise a lot of us here on the hide seem to enjoy.
the president effectively becomes like the King or queen of england ....no real power just a figurehead or ambassador if you will. evry year or two or four years the president is elected from the other side. to make it fair again, no real authority
each side would have it own governing body, exc, leg and jud
each side would be able to live the life their side favors
you would not HAVE to move but may choose too if your living in the part that is opposite to your thinking
the split would be diagonal from southern california to somewhere through NY with the northern parts and most of cali going to the left (it already is for the most part) the lower portion would be conservative
both sides would access to ports, mountains, beaches, Canada and mexico
no check points or anything just a sign stating you are entering the CSA (conservative states of america) and a sign saying you are entering the SBSA ( shit bag states of america) lol or something like that
corporations stay put ( at least initially)
Nothing changes with the military
nothing changes with states money ( at least initaly)
..thats it LOl simple.
Thats a nice thought but thats not how commies work. Theres no options. Do it our way or receive a pellet at the base of your skull.

Fuck the communists.

Yes, he did that while allowing military bases to bring in thousands of illegals...he's got some explaining to do...and the gun laws do not take affect until Sept. 1, it could be a long six weeks.
You are clueless.

Texas doesn't own or controll federal military bases.

At the moment Govenor Abbott has no controll of them.

So don't go blaming that shit on him.

He may not control bases, but he controls the highways immediately beyond them...and most were shipped via busses not planes.

You haven't been paying attention.
They won't even let another state limit abortion.
They aren't going to "go for it".
They know where their money comes from.
It comes from most of the same places, it came from in 1860.

Nothing
Has
Changed

It will still be the same struggle.
The secessionists will still be the same racists.
I know that may boggle some minds, but you might want to study up on real history, and Mr. Lincoln's true proclivities.
Mr Lincoln cared not one whit for the black man.

There's a pretty interesting novel that came out recently on this subject that paints a realistic scenario for a 21st century American civil war and it's pretty bleak, for both sides.

People get pretty emotional about this stuff, but I don't think they realize just how bad everyone's lives would be if the union split. You dream of SHTF scenarios? This is worse, way worse in the long run. I think after a while most folks will have preferred a massive asteroid impact instead or better yet rethought the whole red state vs blue state thing and realized it's not that bad.

Besides, the way I see it, with so many of the red states being incredible moocher states propped up by the wealth of blue states, it's probably better to leave the idea of secession alone while things are still going good. They get to complain loudly while those blue dollars get re-directed to them and they also get wildly outsized representation in DC too. Why upset so many advantages?

Little froggy... stay in your pot.

State property starts outside the gate.
I'm not sure of the legalities of that.
Evidently when the feds processed them they were given papers?

If not Governor Abbot would have probably arrested the driver, confiscated the bus and run them back accross.

I don’t want to secede. I want America to be run and governed according to the constitution again. If the libs don’t like it, there’s the door, get the fuck out. Make them leave for those socialists utopias they blather on about want to emulate so much.
And hence therein lies the dilemma. This ain't happening. If anyone is being shown a door its "domestic terrorists". The youth don't know enough about history and are easily brainwashed. The marxists ruling the show...they have been at this game a long time and frankly we have already taken too much time to respond. This didn't "just" happen Nov. 3.

This would work out simpler if states controlled by a couple of communist counties would secede from the state.

I'm sure a coalition of conservatives would give support.

Granted it will take some time to get up to speed for most of the states but people need to know going in that things will be different for awhile
i am confident though that in short time the poor states would be able to get their shit together. Plus i suspect much of the money that the "rich" blue states subsidize the southern states with go towards paying a majority of the blue social programs anyway. I would think a lot of those folks would make their way to the land of milk honey and free college to enjoy the benefits of living in the perfect socialist model.

Not to mention i am advocating for an amicable and peaceful solution to two opposing sides with little to no common ground. I would love nothing more if not one shot is fired. we can still be americans just different ways we choose to live our life.

You must live in one of them 10th A states that legalized drugs.
Take another pill.

The truth hurts sometimes, doesn't it? If you were expecting a PC answer like "all states contribute equally and get participation trophies too!" you came to the wrong forum...right? Look, I'm just telling it like it is: most red states leach more and most blue states contribute more, so the red states seceding is kind of a foolish idea just based on economics alone.

By the way, my only pills are Cabozantinib for cancer and Ambien for PTSD. But have you tried the Red State Koolaid these days? It only comes in orange flavor and I hear it'll really give you thin skin and an outsized ego.

While the red/blue state contributions may be skewed toward blue, that doesn’t really mean anything if there was a split. Republicans at least say they want limited gov and what better way to spark an economic boom than to establish at least a limited constitutional republic again. If they really mean what they say and property rights were respected and enforced equally the new country would be an economic powerhouse in no time at all

GDP doesn't mean shit. It includes a shitload of non-value adding industries like finance, law, real estate, and sundry service jobs.

That shit doesn't sustain when there's no fuel and food.

Secession is not the answer. It's quickly coming to a time where we will have to take back our country.

When a man stops talking and is silent, this is the time that he is willing to become dangerous. As long as people talk about this, nothing will ever happen. It's when the majority stop talking, is when the government has to start worrying.

A silent man is a dangerous man.

That sounds great....except, red states outnumber blue states.
Also, I think you are mistaking cash, for actual things of value.
I bet you think the Union was rich and the Confederacy was poor too.
I bet you are looking at things like average income as well.
I hope everyone in debt drowned blue states, think like you. If they do, they just might be dumb enough to tell the Red states to just go ahead and secede.

Lets see how much gdp they pump out without food, or without an underlying product for their institutions to service. Wall street won't mean nearly as much in that setting. They might have a tough time with a lot of their energy resources gone. This has all been gamed in multiple simulations. The biggest we know of is during the Obama administration. They ran it multiple times trying to change the options to favor the liberal side. It never ends well for them. They always end up the losers. The only thing that seems to change is time and how many die in the process. The longest sim I saw was 4 years I think, but the outcome was the same.

Mountain + South need to band together and they'd have the rest of the regions under control in no time.

We can swap cousins to cement this deal!

You are talking about a federal govt that lit a building on fire and murdered innocent women and children, and then posed for photos over the burned corpses.....all because of SUSPECTED "illegal guns" ( which were never found BTW)...

You honestly think a peaceful anything is possible?

Fuck, the fed was murdering unarmed protestors at the Capitol...but somehow a peaceful division of the country is possible?

Honestly man, I wish it was...but unfortunately I've read a history book or two in my time...

where do I vote? lol

I'm moving to SC when my youngest go to college and ready to have our own country. Need to get away from the liberal disease that is destroying New Rome

I am strongly opposed to secession. I do not oppose the right to secession, which is no more or less than the right to self determination. Only a tyrant would oppose that. To oppose the right to self determination is to say that our War for Independence was illegitimate. I don't even know the tune or the lyrics to Rule Britannia and I don't think the words God Save the Queen could roll off my tongue without choking. But perhaps that is the Irish blood in me and not the American.

What I oppose is the act of secession and my opposition is based on several grounds.

My first objection is a moral objection. It is not worth a single drop of my blood or the stain on my conscience of a single drop of someone else's blood to either impose that on someone else or deprive that of anyone.

The second objection is purely selfish. What happens to those rights of mine that vest to me by virtue of being a citizen of the United States about which the Constitution of my own state might be completely silent? Would these no longer be rights of mine? Sorry, I want all of them.

My third objection is my desire to not be seen as a coward by those who's opinion of me I value. There are multitudes of us who cherish the same things we do who live in those states that we would be abandoning and declaring beyond and outside our protection. If my state secedes and a neighbor state does not, crossing that line to render aid to those who resist being sent to a Deplorable Camp would be an act of war. Does everyone in this new nation have the power to declare war? I hope not. Or do we just abandon them to their inevitable fate? If a wildfire were to ravage this little valley I live in and I, after protecting and preserving my own home were to simply sit back and watch my neighbor's house and family be consumed without lifting a finger to help, do you suppose that others would consider me a coward. At the very least none of them would have anything to do with me ever again. I highly doubt that their resentment would end there. Were the shoe on the other foot, I suspect simply ostracizing my neighbor wouldn't quite settle the score. And believe me, all scores would be settled.

I don't wish this on my country but our adversaries are relentless in their thirst for absolute power unconstrained by any ancient parchment. I just don't see any way out.

The biggest mistake that time around was not destroying literally everything and everyone south of the MD line.

Davis should have been drawn and quartered in public in the center of Richmond followed by the razing of the entire city.

No quarter for traitors.
so history isn't your best subject I take it
