Looking for my first spotting scope to spot hits on paper and steel. Mostly used around 300yds but have the option to shoot to 2000 from time to time. I know I’m probably not gonna get anything that will do 2000 in my price range so that’s not a worry. Just trying to get the best bang for my buck. Seeing a lot of used Vortex vipers, razors and Bushnell out there. Any input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Get a straight spotter if you think you’re ever gonna switch from binos and back. Really sucks having to adjust tripod height back and forth, especially as a hunter.

Also consider trying to get one with a reticle if you think you’ll ever be calling corrections. Honestly a decent rifle scope works for this though.

I also would recommend Vortex. Especially the Razor line . I have the 16-48x 65 which is a discontinued item but it is really great. I have also had their newer 20-60x85 scope which is exceptional. I sold it and Purchased a Kowa tsn 883 for $1000 more and have never felt I got an extra $1000 of performance over the Vortex. The Vortex warranty can’t be beat either. If you are not hunting with it, the 22-48x65 Razor may suffice.

Buy the good stuff and only cry once:KOWA
