Damoncali only thing I don't like is that particular buttstock is from the tactical model I don't use the monopod. That's the only way I could get it on the group buy here on the Hide a few years ago. It's a great stock and GA Precision put the pipe wrench on it perfectly.
I absolutely hate this ppu brass in 223 I've had about 3,000 pieces that wouldn't size properly. Of course every other manufacturer I've had no problems at all. I think it's very brittle brass seen the case head cracked once on the stamp end. I'd rather recycle this junk than fool with it what a...
My older 3-12 XTR is a great scope with really good glass, not as good as a nightforce but it was less than half the price of the nightforce too, I refuse to sell my XTR. With The Older XTR I have the clicks are positive and tracks very well It's a pretty good scope. At least as good as either...
I shoot high power. I practice with those black bulls eyes with iron sights. But The best training aid I've come across is a torso sized piece of steel 12 inches wide and 24 inches tall and a 10' circle at 600 yrds which is my ranges longest distance (12x24 is great cause I'm an MOA guy with My...
Compass Lake man my krieger barreled service rifle shoots the lights out!!! (for the past 10 years) Frank does excellent work I know the douglas would be a bug hole shooter too. Have him headspace the bolt too, and or get the bolt with the barrel that's good advice. He's also a super good guy...
Wow my google fu is weak I finally found a thread on a search that described the exact same situation I'm having. The culprit Was a burr in a brand New large caliber AR barrel, same scenario as mine. It described the welding of copper "shards" to the bolt from the hot gases blowing the copper...
Arnie19 that's what I'm thinking but I don't know for sure yet I was hoping someone might be able to say yeah Man without a doubt that's what happens when there's a burr at the gas hole in the barrel. I called the MFG of the barrel and I seem to be more qualified than him. It seems to be the...
COPPER, COPPER, COPPER I DON'T HAVE A BRASS ISSUE... My spent brass looks great no shavings scratches or deformities ejector swipes nothing wrong with the brass whatsoever anywhere including the part where the ejector latches on to the bottom of the brass. My upper is a Bushmaster upper from...
Yes I chamfered the brass inside and out. I even annealed the brass on my Giraud annealing machine. If you look at the area the build up was on its directly below the area where the gas blows into the carrier, I think the copper is blowing onto the bolt from the gas system somehow. I'd like...
Started a thread on the semi auto section & thought someone over here might know too. What would be the cause of excessive copper particles, pieces, specks on this portion of the bolt? The accumulation was so much that the bolt wouldn't close properly. After I took it out of the carrier I...
With out a doubt it's copper. if you look real close to the right side of the bolt you can actually see some of the specks on the top portion of it where the gas tube goes inside the bolt. Odd thing is the bolt face and locking lugs have no copper on them and only minimal traces of brass. I'm...
The majority of the accumulation was on the inside of the bolt carrier and the issue is that the majority of the build up right here on the ridge was restricting the function of the bolt from sliding in and out of the bolt carrier group easily.
Tried out my new Blackout yesterday after 20 rounds I went to clean the bolt carrier group & the bolt had a bunch of copper particles stuck to the sides in the widest area where bolt rides/slides inside the carrier group restricting its back and forth movement. Also on the very end where the...
