congrats on the new tOBR. You should check out the 30 rd. Shootout challenge and look at the groups some people are putting up with their 7.62 Larue's. Round 5 should be starting soon I suspect.
I was in the same dilemma but was stuck between the 16" and 18". I can tell you that the 16" barrel with a Surefire break is still not going to make you any friends at the range. I can't imagine what a 14.5" would sound/feel like with a break and no suppressor.
My latest entry. The rifle is a LaRue PredatOBR, .308 with a 16" barrel, Nightforce 3.5-15x50. Shooting factory 175 gr. FGMM. Been working hard on the fundamentals and have watched all of Lowlight's videos, multiple times.
It's a LaRue PredatOBR and I do have a Surefire muzzle break on it, which helps recoil a lot over the stock flash hider. I'm mostly shooting factory 175 gr. FGMM and other 168-175 gr. factory ammo. I haven't tried anything lighter. And thanks for the input.
