Here is my first attempt at the @ChrisWay Kraft challenge. The shot way off to the left was the second standing shot, it felt like a poor shot from the break and clearly was.
Ok, here is a bit more info. I live in Australia, so there is no option for formal training and when the PRS Australia season is running its over 6 hrs drive to each event. So if anyone with some NRL/PRS experiences is willing to share a bit of a generic plan to follow for PRS style shooting...
Hi, I was just wondering if anyone has any sort of printable training plan? Something to mix up each range trip and to have a plan to follow, if that makes sense. I have a range setup from 100m-2000m with steel and paper in close with a few barricade style obstacles but I seem to always end up...
A bit of a reminder of the need to QC with your own eyes, I found this defective piece of brass in a batch of 400 new cases. Probably a good thing it went to a hand loader and didn’t slip through into a box a factory ammo. If your wondering why a new case looks so dirty it was my test piece in...
All the Wiebad mini stock pads are sold out here in Australia, so I just made one out of a stubby holder. I haven’t shot with it yet but it seems to fit and feel ok.
There sure are some lowlifes in this world... If you make some new targets, you could write your name or something offensive on the back of them with the welder. At least it will piss them them when they have to spend half an hour to grind it off after stealing them....
One thing to add, if you have heaps of chain and limited webbing you only need 1-2 foot of webbing attached to the target then you can use the chain outboard of the webbing so it’s less likely to get shot.
I have found chain ends up snapping after a few stray shots, so I have been using damaged ratchet strap webbing for swinging targets. You can just tie a knot or use washers and bolts at either end. I have a few of my old trouser belts from the Navy that will end up holding up some plates shortly.
Here are a few I have made, the fox and bullseye flapper are mild steel and ok to shoot out past 500m with my 243win, the bullseye flap is attached by bolts and a rubber strap, it mounts on posts on a slight angle to ensure the flapper resets into its hole. The hostage target is made from road...
Another great podcast Frank, thank you. I missed the name of the Remington 700 bolt with the Accuracy International extractor, I was wondering if anyone cought the name of it and could let me know that would be great. Or I will just have to listen again tomorrow in the tractor, which I may...
I ran out of white spray paint one day and only had pink line marking paint that sprays upside down, and I couldn’t get a range reading (1000yds) off it with my Sig Kilo 2000, not sure if it was a spectrum/wavelength issue or just to non reflective as it was a rough matt finish. Just something...
