That's good because that's the look I was going for.
It's my first precision rifle and I love it so far. I just ditched the hogue stock and got a HS Precision take off. I also just finished my first (poor) attempt at throwing some paint on it. The wind wasn't cooperating and my stencils weren't the best. I'm going to take what I learned and give...

Re: bedding a 700 tactical with a Hogue stock
I remember seeing a thread about it, but I was unable to find it. You should just ditch the crappy stock. It was one of the first things I did. You can pick up an HS precision take off pretty cheap.
Re: Is the SPS Tactical worthy of $1000 glass?
i've got a nightforce 3.5-15 on my SPS tactical. Buy once cry once. I figured I would spend all my money on the glass and upgrade the rifle over time.
I am looking for a sling for my 700 that has the standard sling studs. I like the TAB slings, however I don't know which type of attachment method i need. Do i just select no attachment? All of the other options seem to be for flush cups or some other kind of mounting system that I don't have.
Re: Help with $1000 budget....
If you are patient you might be able to find a steal on a used scope. I just picked up a NF 3.5-15 X 50 for $1100.
If you are looking for a NIB scope the SS 10HD seems to lead the pack if you can get away with a fixed power scope.

Re: First rifle, Need some help with choosing a stock.
I think the AICS may be a little heavy and bulky, not to mention expensive, for your intended use. You might look into buying a 5R take off stock or an hs precision stock. relatively inexpensive and not overly heavy.
