Update: Just got back from Talladega. No pictures to post. What was interesting was My wife and I were testing some loads using a Magnetospeed. My std load is 40 gr H4350 using an Berger OTM 130 in Hornady brass. I had estimated a 2500 fps based on load data, actual was 2620 fps avg. Used Lapua...
I'll try posting using paper clip. The Fab stock is good for carbines, not so much precision rifle. The 300WM & 338 is larger than 6.5 version. Show < 2700 at max load for RL-22. May try another powder. Thanks
Did some more analysis. Above target was 5.888 at 600 yds. MOA was 0.937. 10 mph right to left wind. Tested 338 LM with Magnetospeed, load RL-22 78g, Berger 300 OTM. Was expecting abut 2500 fps. Got repeated (6 shots) all > 2500 fps. Avg 2554 SD 11.6. All with Suppressor. Need to work that SD...

Your 2 savages are great rifles. Had a rem 700p in 300WM (is was a sub-moa in the .8 moa range), Sold and got Savage, better rifle in my eyes. Have 6.5, 300 WM, and 338 Lapua. All are sub-moa, with the 300WM shooting .3 when I do my part. I admit I reload, so factory ammo may be an issue...
Pictures of 338 at Talladega with electronic target read-out. Shooting 300 Berger OTM with 78 gr RL-22 powder. Wind was 10 mph right to left. No dope for 600 so first round was sighting round...
Promised pictures from Talladega. Savage Stealth 300WM. Berger 185 OTM with RL-22 74gr. Wind 10 mph Right to left. Not sure what x out on shot 1 & 2 mean, will have to ask next time I go. Really good trip. On this rifle, no working up to 600, just started with previous dope. Felt really good...
Savage Stealth in 338 Lapua - First impressions - 11/03/2016 Reposting from old Snipers Hide for discussion. Original Post CBryars2 Call me crazy - but I took the plunge and picked up the 338 Lapua Savage Stealth. Like the 300 WM it is a considerably different from my Stealth 6.5 on several...
