    Marlin 1895 Cowboy 45-70

You have a marlin 336 cowboy and want the companion 45-70. The straight stock makes it an 1895 cowboy. if that's your preference I would just look for a decent 1895 CB I have an 1886 take down in 45-90. love it But it's not a Marlin. No scope, hard to disassemble , not as slick cycling action...

    What caused this primer failure?

I think the flame cutting welded the extractor to the bolt body somehow That bolt is trashed. Call Winchester and see if they will replace the bolt

    Help Me, I want this…

Not your grandfather's Level gun For sure I collect lever guns and have every thing from 22lr to 500 S&w. Mostly Marlins but several Winchester's and Henry's 1) best choice is 45-70. Large bullet selection can do 1000 ft-lbs muzzle sub sonic - but worry about the hand guard mounting. Yes it...

    Sell me on LMT

I have an LMT MWSE. It's been mentioned already but I can't say enough about reliability and good accuracy (w match grade HL or factory) their barrels are good and have excellent life span one of my barrels has 2500 + down the pipe and still very accurate. The downside is getting a replacement...

    Weird issues with AR10 build

The gas port is at least 50% larger than typical as indicted in the attached image. note this is a guide but I have found it be useful When you say failure to to eject, I'm assuming The case gets stuck in the receiver and Is doubling feeding. You will very likely need an adjustable gas block as...

    AI AT308 bolt face pitting

I am not an expert metallurgist, I definitely can't say I'm God's gift to bolt action But have had many dozens of pierced and leaking primers not to mention blown case heads ( basically destroyed the bolt) I have had one catastrophic failure which cracked the barrel and the bolt and receiver...

I hear ya never trust one source If it's important to you check around.
