    Gunsmithing Scope rings

Not sure if this question belong here but here goes anyway. I have seen guys show their rifles on the net and some have 4 rings mounted on the base to hold the scope. My question is, is this better then just 2 good rings on the base to hold the scope? If so where do you buy the rings?

    223 reloads using 8208

Re: 223 reloads using 8208 I think it slow also. I ran my 22 250 on the same chrono and had 3850fps so I thing the readings are right. I don't think it matters if the rifle is an ar or bolt if the load was shot in both rifles. I'm stumped. I was hoping for at least 2900fps.I know you lose...

    223 reloads using 8208

Hi, my load is this: 556 LC Brass- 23 grains of IMR 8208-CCI rifle primers- 60 grain Nosler Ballistic tip- I'm shooting it out of a 16 inch Rock River varmint barrel 1 in 8 twist. I ran a 5 shot string and got the following reading thur my Beta Master. 1-2679 fps 2-2644 fps 3-2613 fps 4-2630...

    bullet length

Re: bullet length o.k. The Nosler 50grain measures 0.800- The Sierra 63 grain measures 0.755. Now with that formula the 63 grain should shoot as well as the 50 grain, correct. I understand that the rifle might not like the 63 grain bullet but on paper, the 1/14 twist should shoot it just as well.

    Remington 700 Tac or Varmint

Re: Remington 700 Tac or Varmint I own both. I have a RR 556 with a 1 in 8 twist which I shoot 60 grain Nosler Ballistic with IMR 8208. The 22 250 is a Rem VTR/ 1 in 14 twist, which I load with a 50 grain Nosler Ballistic with 8208. I use the 22 250 if I;m out in the open and shots fire will...

Re: bullet length Thanks for the information, I guess what I kinda whated to know is there anyone that tried the heavier but shorter bullet in a 1/14 ttwist barrel and how they grouped. I should have asked what the twist in the remington rifle was before buying it because I would have liked...

I have a 22-250 (Remington VTR) and am currently using the nosler 50 grain ballistic bullet. Powder used is 8208 xbr- 35.5 grains. My question, if someone can help is, the Nosler Ballastic bullet measures 0.800 acording to JBL List. I found a Sierra 63 grain softpoint varmint bullet that...
