Did you end up getting the AR-15 version? I had the same question as you, since I just recently got an AR-30 and don't prefer the stock skeleton buttstock.
I just finally scoped my AR-30 this past weekend, unfortunately it was raining so I did not get a chance to shoot it. Hopefully this weekend. If so, I will let you know.
Update.... First off, thanks to everyone so far that has replied and given me great insight. This past weekend I decided to go ahead and try the scope. I got it mounted, unfortunately it was raining so have yet to fire the setup/conduct a zero. Though there is not much room for adjustment...
Update.... This is the setup I put together last weekend; with the -14 mounted behind an Aimpoint Comp M3 (my brothers). Seems to work decent.... will hopefully find out this weekend if the weather cooperates.
Those sound like some good choices. I will look into them. I actually just borrowed my brother's Aimpoint Comp M3 to see how I like it, and it seems to work great. Hoping to test fire it tomorrow.
Thanks! Great advice. I am definitely familiar with the head-mount setup due to many years of military operations, so I may just end up going that way. I do plan on doing some longer range shooting, as this weapon is not being built for CQM purposes. Additionally, I do have the 3X magnifier...
