Does anyone know where I can get an M16 style extractor for a Remington 700 .223 and a print for installation? PTG told me their mini one won’t work for it and LRI isn’t showing their mini one available to order. I can do the install myself and would rather not have to send my bolt off. Also...
Ya, it always seem a little over gassed. But it shot great right up until it didn't anymore and was worn out. You can use a drill index in place of gauge pins to get a close measurement too.
I get that, and I'm not trying to make this into something it's not. More just wanting to make it the best it possibly can be as it is. I know it's the shoulder that needs to be set back for chamber length but my headspace is right at .043" so whatever I take off the shoulder I have to take off...
Ok, short story first, then questions. I have a cz455 Tactical that's turning into a perpetual project rifle. I shot it stock out of the box for about a month before I started tinkering with it. Initially, it shot about as well as the test target that it came with, roughly 2 MOA with some...
I had this exact same issue on my 308 I recently built. It was on a Rem 700 action with a regular Timney trigger. I guess Remington changed something in their design, either with the firing pin, the cocking piece, or location of the trigger itself, some years ago. So with the Timney installed...
1-10” I used to have a 1-12” that they did stabilize out of but it was it wasn’t the best barrel on its own so I couldn’t blame the bullet for any lack of performance
185gr Berger Juggernaut Lapua brass (trimmed 2.010") Wolf Large Rifle primer 45.7gr 2000-MR COL- 2.85" (0.080" jump) 20" Shilen 1-10" twist 2561 fps I know that a lot of people are finding 2000-MR to be a little temp sensitive so if it matters, this is at 80* F.
So I just got a couple boxes to try. Basically, if this stuff came out about 5 years ago I wouldn't have had a reason to handload for this particular rifle. I was adamant about using the 185gr Berger bullet. This ammo shoots damn near identically to my load. 2570ps out of a 20" Shilen barrel...
I literally just went through this barely a month ago. I love Tikka rifles and have no doubt that the T1x is a fantastic rifle, especially considering it's supposed to fit into the same stocks as the T3's. But given the track record that the CZ has and that I could get it right away, I got the...
Hopefully this is in the right place. I finally got around to crunching some numbers. This isn't intended to prove one set of numbers superior to others, I just wanted to share what I noticed... Barnes lists a G1 BC of .41 Bryan Litz lists an average G7 BC of .204 When I went out and...
Not sure if this helps, but my 16" LaRue with 1-8" twist managed a 9" 3 round group at almost 1100 meters with 85gr Barnes MatchBurners. The holes were a little crooked but still not sideways. At 600 meters they were perfectly round clean holes. And this is at a density altitude of -200 feet...
