My Gen4 G19 has put a scratch in my eye safety, bounced several pieces of brass off my head, and sent a couple down the front of my shirt. It only seems to do it late in a session when my arm is tired, so may be limp wristing. My Gen4 G21 seems fine so far.

Nothing "essential". Some people like the extended slide release. Night sights are great if you intend it for low-light use.

Tritium is green in all 3, front post orange picks up any light really well. Fits the purpose I bought them for - quick target acquisition in the dark with blurry sleep eyes. Only downside is now I want them for my other Glock.
