    Barrel Wear

I feel your pain. At least I was happy with the way I shot my 03A4 in the Vintage Sniper Rifle Match! HRF

    Barrel Wear

Yes, that's everything, and yes it seemed to be shooting pretty well earlier in the season. Looks like I tried to push it just a little too far. I wish I had swapped mine before CP rather than after. The one that died is an SS barrel, as I understand things, the carbon steel barrels will last a...

    Barrel Wear

It appears that I have worn out the barrel in my RRA National Match rifle. At the National Matches up at Camp Perry last week, I was not terribly happy with my shooting. I actually thought it was just me having a bad day until I swapped out my rifle's upper with a brand new one. After the swap...

Rcbs rock chucker single stage press as good as they say?

I've had mine for about 15 years. Last winter I managed to break the priming arm. A quick call to RCBS had a new one shipped to me free of charge within about a week! HRF

Help me find a reason to keep my 700P

I suppose it depends upon how much the heritage of the 700P in .308 might mean to you. It's more or less a descendent of the USMC M40 originally developed by Remington. It has also been THE law enforcement Sniper rifle for the past 3 decades or so. If all that is meaningless historical mumbo...

I'm sure whatever is missing isn't important anyway. Good luck, and have fun! HRF

    Gunsmithing Duracoat University Question

It's about a 12-hour drive from my home. I'm thinking it might make a nice RV trip in the fall. HRF

    Gunsmithing Duracoat University Question

    Gunsmithing Duracoat University Question

I'm thinking seriously about attending the "Duracoat University" conducted by LCW. If anyone here has attended previously, I would like to hear your thoughts. Thank You, HRF

My Grandfather's 1939 Camp Perry Diploma

One of the things of which I am acutely aware is the rich history associated with Camp Perry. When I shoot there, I feel like the ghosts of several generations of former shooters are looking on. I hope my performance meets their approval, and my conduct honors their memory. HRF

Any advantages to a M1907 sling over a bipod on a modern bolt action rifle?

They both have their places. A well rounded shooter should be competent with either depending upon the situation at hand. HRF

Rifle Scopes Looking for new glass for department issued rifles.

Moving targets are definitely doable with a SFP scope. It's just not quite as precise as with an FFP. HRF

Sidearms & Scatterguns smith 39-2 mags?

If he is just looking for shooters and not "authentic" originals, magazines for the 3900 series pistols will work just fine (I run one in my 39-2). I believe they are still available from S&W, and probably also from Midway. HRF
