Bayou rifles does a smallbore silhouette match the second saturday of every month at the addicks range. They also do a 'plinkathon' on what looks like the 3rd saturday. silhouette is all off-hand, but can help with shooting skills in general. I've not shot the plinkathon.

Yeah, the grendel forum warns about the 123+ class bullets with the 8208, so with 129s, I'm not sure what to expect. I have a pound or so of 8208, but don't know if I would get the same velocity with the 130s as with leverevolution.

Point of reference. Smallbore rifle silhouette uses chickens, pigs, turkeys, and rams at 40, 60, 77, and 100 meters, respectively. Including the bases....the animals can be templated off of a rectangle the following size (HxW), but the actual hit area is smaller. Turkeys are the most difficult...

Looking for opinions on straight vs. angled spotting scopes here as well. Range time and silhouette shooting primarily.

You could order the Boyd's Pro Varmint for the savage and pretty well have the same stock for both. It wouldn't have pillars but would be the same stock. Or it looks like Bell and Carlson makes a new tactical style adjustable comb stock that might be similar.

I haven't tried it yet, but will after hunting season on a Grayboe I have. One suggestion was to put a soldering iron on the cup for a bit and then break it loose like LRI says with the allen wrench.

Depends on what you are looking for. I've had a DIP rail on a 22lr, and I've got BKL rings on my CZ455 with a 1" tubed scope. BKL also makes 30mm.

The 3B might 'just' fit. Mine touched the fore end in one spot, so it could have been some paint or something that made the action sit just off center. I don't think that it will help any, but I have a 3B that is in a Manners EH3, which says it will fit up to a Bartlein #4. It 'just' fits into...
