Trying to start loading for a couple 6.5 grendel, wanting to use 129 sst's, trying to figure out the best powder. Not finding much info on it. Any of u guys got loads?
Have used CFE223 successfully with 129 ABLR’s-but have not yet with 129SST’s. Work up carefully in summer heat-CFE works well at higher fill densities, but peaks quickly near max. Got a bit over 2500fps and excellent accuracy in 24” Satern at 30.2gr, but is slightly compressed.
Leverevolution has worked well for several on the grendel forum form the 123+ class of bullets. I'm using leverevolution in a bolt gun under the 130 bergers. Same work up slowly, and from what I've read the powder is somewhat temperature sensitive.
30.2 grains, berger 130 ar hybrid, 26 inch barrel, 2515fps.
Leverevolution and CFE223 are very similar, almost interchangeable and they are temp sensitive. XBR 8208 is a slower, more temp stable powder that worked well for me with the 123 gr SST and ELDM.

8208 spike pressure quick, so it is best to pay attention to the chrono when working up a load. As long as you are getting similar velocity gains with an increase in powder, it is decent to work with. I went up .1 at a time doing load development and backed off when I noticed any sign of pressure. The only blown primers I had in the Grendel were with CFE223 when the weather warmed up.
