Re: 250 Savage Thanks for the offer, but it's been passed down through the generations from my great grandfather. It's put down countless bucks... so it's got sentimental value and makes great hunting rifle. Well this is good news... Now I can convince my wife I need another gun!

Re: Places to shoot near Austin Ya probably just .22. I'll have my hunting rifle with me too, but since I'm not a millionaire, I may not get a chance to shoot it. Only problem with a real range is that I'd have to get a one year membership for the few months I'm there.

So I'm moving to Austin for 3-6 months this Sunday and I'm wondering if anyone on here has suggestions for good places to shoot out there.

So I still have a long way to go with my .22 before I step up to a center fire, but I thought I'd ask for opinions. I have an old Savage Model 99 Lever Action. Does anyone on here use this rifle or at least the 250 Savage round? When I'm ready to move up, I want something that's effective...

So I ran out of Aguila this morning and found some Wildcat that I had forgotten to try out in my ammo box. I was very happy with it. I didn't dial in the cross hairs for it, but it was grouping just as well as the Aguila and it's a lot easier to find locally. Anyone else shoot with it?
