I have two 6.5 PRCs that shoot the Hornady Precision Hunter just as well as they do handholds, one is a Browning X Bolt and the other is a Tikka T3 with a proof barrel.
Has anyone modified the MT long action metal magazine to reliably feed 6.5PRC? Mine always want to nose dive so I have been continuing to use the stock plastic magazine.
Here she is. I'll get some better pics soon. Tikka T3 action, stock bottom metal Proof prefit 6.5 PRC, 24" Talley lightweight lows (just barely clear) Bushnell LRHS 4.5-18 Iota Kremlin stock Haven't had a chance to get out and shoot yet, hopefully this weekend. I had ordered a VX5HD for this...
Got the Proof prefit installed on my Tikka and looking for a thread protector that will match the contour. Right now I just have a thread protector my buddy had laying around but it's a little on the small side and looks funny.
I'm installing a proof prefit on my Tikka T3 hunter 7mm Rem Mag. It's a sendero contour. Until now I've been using lows with my Bushnell LRHS with the stock sporter barrel, Talley one piece. I'm wondering if I could get away with mediums or if I need to go with highs.
Eh, I'll have to pick that one up later. Couldn't pass on the Military price for the VX-5HD. This is a lightweight/backcountry build so the 19oz weight with decent glass was a real selling point. The entire rifle minus ammo is 7.85lbs.
I'm not getting rid of the LRHS, I'm moving it to my wife's rifle. If a scope won't track correctly I don't really want it. I looked at the Mark 5 but damn I'd have to get all new scope mount hardware because they have to be different and have a 35mm tube.
