I don't have an upper built yet so I can get whatever barrel is necessary, I was just wondering if it's worthwhile to build one if that projectile works well or not. It sure as hell looks nasty but I wonder how it really works on live animals.

Hey man did you ever end up having success with the Lehighs in .300BLK? I'm wondering if anyone has experience with 194gr "Maximum Expansion" projectiles, specifically as far as hunting goes.

It sure does! I always shoot suppressed so I'm not worried about the muzzle device and the weight doesn't bother me either since I'll only be shooting it from a bench (or prone) and not lugging it around in the woods or anything. That's a little bit concerning about the tabs but it is a mass...

Have you tried loading the 208s? I've never shot them but my buddy loads them for his .308 Howa and he swears by them.

I have a Diamondback Tactical 6-24x50 and so does my buddy. They're good for the money, but neither of ours has a correct parallax adjustment. To get targets focused at 100yds we have to have the parallax adjusted up to near the 300yd mark on the scope, and it doesn't really focus perfectly past...

Is that true? I mean even if you're new to rifles I can't imagine being those guys and somehow thinking that makes any sense...

I've shot my Bergara HMR in .308 (20" 1:10) out to 1,400 yds with the Federal GMM 185 Berger's, but only got a couple of hits. At 1216yds it was fairly easy, I even got my girlfriend to make hits at that range. That was just factory ammo so if you're handloading it really opens up your options...
