Have never had a problem with 168gr SMK or 175 SMK on whitetail or axis. Honestly the only bullet I have had a problem with is berger 168gr hunter - didn't expand on 2 out of 3 deer I dropped with it... switched back to SMK's after that year.

I prefer March for comp but hunting I think it is good value - I don't love the reticle it just feels a bit busy, but I have recommended to several people for a scope in that price range.

I prefer March over the nx8 as far as image quality but value wise I would say they are close - personally the March fml-t1 reticle more than the nx8 mil-xt or mil-c

Re: Leupold ER/T 6.5-20x50 M5 or 8.5-25x50 M5 I have the 8.5-25 and I found the 8.5 to be alittle on the high side for low magnification. If I were to do it over I would probably go with the 6.5-20. Other than that it works well.
