I shoot my 10/22 at 25 to 50 yards most of the time. When i shoot a .22LR at 100 or 200 yards, I use a Savage bolt action Mark 11 with a bull barrel - a lot more accurate than the Ruger. The 10/22 is a fun plinker though.
Either a Chinese knockoff or you very lucky. Gander is expense, but they do screw things up from time to time. You got an incredible deal - you are one lucky dog.
I have a 110 BA chamber in .338 LM - been shooting it for several years. Easy to shoot, little recoil, and accurate. A 300 Win Mag is not too much gun. And you can learn all the fundamental at 100 yards. I believe the throat on the 300 WM will burn out sooner than some non magnum rounds like...
I own several Nightforce scope and have used US Optics. I think the Nightforce might be built a little tougher. But if you are shooting long range and competition, I would recommend a lot more magnification than 15 or 17 power. That might be OK for hunting but not for long range or competition.
Considering all the foreign aid we give to Israel - we probably paid for the R&D on this gun and should get a great discount. I think its a limited application trendy gun that has gotten too much publicity. I would be concerned with long term reliability and replacement parts.
I have an LAR 8 and it is surprisingly very accurate for a moderately priced weapon. It's a sub minute gun in the right hands. I believe I posted a video on this forum years ago showing some of my targets. It does use Fal mags but be careful. I bought some Fal mags from a gun show and could...
When I am at a range that requires eye protection, I wear glasses. But when I shoot, I raise them and place them on my forehead. Why? Because I have not found a pair of glasses that I can shoot well with. I shoot better without them. Of course this is probably not smart. I now have some...
Re: 308 Barrel length Someone once asked Abraham Lincoln how long should a man's legs be? He replied, long enough to touch the ground. I think the same applies to barrel length. What are you going to do with the gun? The barrel should be long enough to accomplish that.
Re: School me on 338LM Factory Ammo Hornady brass sticks in the Savage 110 BA - from my experience and others. It is believed that the Hornady is too soft and the Savage chamber is very tight. But it does stick and causes a very difficult bolt lift.

Re: savage 110 fcp .338 lapua stuck cases It is not the gun its Hornady. It is absolutely the Hornady brass. I have a Sav 110 BA and have shot Black Hills, Lapua, Federal, Hornady, etc. The only rounds that caused a sticky bolt were the Hornady. I also occasionally shoot with other guys with...
