The weight might help but I believe if you bump the bench it is still going to move it . Mine changes sometimes just from moving too much around it. You will get used to how much movement it will tolerate once you get your routine down and you should find it a pretty smooth operation.

I've got an AX which is 40.5" folded with Hellfire brake. I use a drag bag from Midway that measures about 46". Rifle fits great in it. Lots of room for accessories. All I have ever used for it.

I see what you are saying. Why would they waste so much movement downward? Seems like this rifle and bullet should easily be able to go a mile but how would you do it without maxing out turret elevation travel?
