    My rifle range finally put in a 400 yard lane with just a set of gongs to start with. I had a load in my .300 SAUM that shot very well from 100-300 yards. Finally got to see if it held its accuracy for 3 shots at 400. 3 shots for 2" makes me a very happy camper. :-) Ruger M77 MK II Vortex Viper...

    I do. I see a lot of guys who use lead sled type rests for developing loads. I suppose it's alright if you're working up hunting loads and such, but!!! There's nothing to give for that recoil, thus causing the muzzle/Forend to jump off the the front bag. This is just what I have experienced...

    Holy shit! A 22 caliber pilot?! You should back off to where you're using maybe a 25 cal pilot. Just my opinion.

    I do test bunches in groups of 5. Also, I find where I can seat the bullet out to touch the lands(or magwell) and step back 0.010" till I get to 0.050" of the lands (or mag length). I've found most of the right seating depths in that general area.

    H4350 or IMR 8208 XBR? I'm launching a 185 Berger Hybrid out of a 30" 4 groove 1-10.5" Bartlein tube on a 700 action for use in long range F/TR matches? I was thinking H4350 would be the ticket but I also wonder if it's a hair bit too slow? Your thoughts are greatly appreciated. Rex
