I'm not an expert shooter by any means but I do see a lot of LaRues since I live in the Austin area(They are based just north of Austin) and I've seen plenty of them shoot half MOA with hand loads in a competent shooter's hands. I've also seen lot of guys who have more money than sense with them...
7mm 168 Grain Match VLD Target
This is not specific to an Amax, but berger recommends 1 in 10 or more for their 168 grain VLD bullet. Based on this, I would say that 1 in 9.5 is perfectly acceptable.
As others have said, a remage is the way to go if you have a Remington and want to work on it yourself.
