Outstanding, this is the kind of information I was looking for. Thanks guys. Anyone else got first hand experience? Which tripod do you guys use? The 055 or the 190? What's the difference?
I searched this and couldn't find any decisive results. My question is this: is the Hog saddle any more stable or accurate than the Pig saddle. I am familiar with the manufacturing differences of the two but have had trouble finding topics covering the performance differences between the two...
I would have thought that the slanted stock would be better for field use...can you elaborate XTR? Why do you find butthooks to be better for field use? Sometimes I won't be able to use my bag in the field so this concerns me. I would think that you could move your support hand along the stock...
Better in what way? Accuracy? It's my understanding, after talking to several gunsmiths, that traditional glass bedding is the most stress free way to put a barreled action into a stock. This leads to "better" accuracy. By how much? Well, I'm probably not good enough to notice the difference...
Haha! Captain Kirk, I know in benchrest matches they say getting a stock to "ride the bag" is integral to accuracy. If the flat bottomed butthook rides the bag better than a standard stock would that imply that butthooks are more accurate than a standard stock?

Wow, good to know he has that kind of knowledge and confidence. 1/4 - 3/8 moa is good for me. Thanks dariof, I'll give him a call. Did he give you a lead time?
Yeah, I've heard his rings and mounts are phenomenal. I've also heard that his NV mount might be getting a .mil contract so it. It's gotta be good too. But what is starting to blow my mind in that no one can post something saying, "my rifle shoots xxx." Maybe I'm being too demanding or getting...
Yeah, I totally understand that and agree in almost every way. But $1500 would pay for most of my new glass (steiner t5x) and it would be very comforting to have the builder local to me. Resale value means nothing to me as I don't sell guns as a rule. Accuracy, however, means a lot to me. I...
