100%, it's been a big misconception between EAR and ITAR for a long time - some people up here still claim it is a "thing" so they can charge people the fee for the ITAR export license and then go file their license for free with Commerce/BIS. The last several times I've brought up customer...
FYI, ITAR doesn't apply to 95% of the scopes on the market. The only exception to that would be (as far as I know) certain ACOG's and other scopes that would have an NSN for issue to the military. Anything else is covered for export purposes under U.S. Department of Commerce and can be...
Haven't had a chance to put any lead downrange yet but some pics and thoughts: The objective bell on it seems a lot more proportional IMO as the 42mm model seemed pretty small im my mind. I was doing a bit of "neighborhood surveillance" at dusk the first night they arrived and I found (again...
I re-purposed a Rem 700 McM A-TH for my build (I bought mine when it was still called an A-Hole, hehe) The only concern I would have if using it as a hunter/ walking rifle is if I was to fall while my hand was in the pistol grip - could end up with a dislocated or busted thumb due to how small...
Done did it, works great ;-) *Tikka T3 SS .300 WSM *McM R700 A-hole stock filled and re-inletted for T3 *Benchmark SS #5 contour barrel, 26" long *Mini muscle brake *Atlasworxs Tikka T3 DBM *Alpha mag type 2, feed lips tweaked for SAUM *March 5-40 FFP glass Likely going to change out...
It will feed, just need a DBM that takes Alpha mags - Also a magnum bolt would work but good luck trying to get one by itself. I'll try to get some pics of mine up soon, just needs some massaging of the stock since it started life as a McM Rem 700 SA stock ;-)
That's all I ended up doing cause I couldn't wait for the "proper" dies to come out- you just need the following parts to swap out (assuming your dies are Reddings): Redding part no. 11263, 6.5mm Decap assembly Redding part no. 09167, VLD micrometer seating assembly Neck bushings of proper size
Just recently did a customer's Sig 220 slide and frame in pink, found that doing a light fogging coat then flash baking it for 15 min helped get the second coat to be more uniform without having to lay it on crazy thick.
Re: Done my research and still over my head on 6mm What about 6mm Crusader? 115 DTACs at ~3250fps. Built one for a friend and its a hammer at 1k. Uses 6mm Rem brass, fireform and you're golden(even the fire forming loads showed reasonable accuracy.)
