Thanks everyone. My first build was a breeze, but this one seems to be a little more stubborn.

Got the tube out. It did get a little damaged when I removed it so that is the good news. Now I just neeed to pick up another tube and start over.

I still have approximately 3/8" to go and I had to tap on the end to get it to go as far as it is now. Maybe I could keep tapping it, but I don't like doing that. That is why I feel something could be out of spec.

I have a PRI Gas Block with the flip up sight and a DPMS Carbine Gas Tube. My issue is the tube will not go in all the way (appx 3/8" to go) I don't believe I can remove it without destroying now as well. I measure the gas tube at 0.179 with a set of calipers, but can't find any specs to know if...

Re: 308 or 6.5CM Get the .308 and have some. Learn to reload and enjoy the benefits of being able to dial a load in for your rifle. Then later down the road if you still feel the need pick up a 6.5CM.
