Re: another newby 10/22 question The adjustable v-block is to allow correction for "barrel droop" it is not intended as an accuracy tweek. There are many fixes regarding pressure points or floating the barrel but adjustable v-block isn't one. Good luck.

Re: Got my 10/22 finished (for now)... My 10/22 with an 18" GM fluted heavy barrel will group Remington Subsonic under 3/8" OD (50yards), it seems to be the favorite for this rifle.

Re: distance for iron sights on 22 pistol I routinely shoot at 25 yards, all of my .22 handguns will shoot 1"/5shot groups at that distance (Ruger 22/45, S&W 22A, IZH35M). Some days I can only do 2" or so and it does takes some practice but it really helps reinforce the fundamentals and...

Re: Exploding Brass I work RSO at a local range indoor here and when we got our first 15-22 it did the same thing and blew the extractor right off. (scared the crap out of the shooter)
