    6.5x55 / 6.5x47 lapua

Re: 6.5x55 / 6.5x47 lapua I have a 6.5 x 55 in a small ring 98 mauser action. Love it, however I think it is a little bit of a bastard cartridge in that it is to long for a SA and to short for a LA. If it were me I would choose the 6.5x47 and get a short action Surgeon.

Advice for lightweight rifle build needed

Re: Advice for lightweight rifle build needed As much as I love a custom rifle a Kimber Montana for under a grand is very doable in a 300 wsm or others. Use the left over for optics and you have a winner. JMHO

    Trigger question

Re: Trigger question I should clarify that I think 1 lb is to low for hunting. After some more looking I am thinking I want about 2 lbs or so for a trigger with the possibility of going lower.

    Trigger question

What is a good trigger for a combo tactical/hunting rig. The action is a Stiller predator. I would like a trigger that has a weight at 16oz or so. Is 16oz even safe for hunting? What weight is everyone running on their rigs? Am I crazy for even trying to make this rifle do two things? Thanks.
