Re: updated bolt cocking piece and safety for maus Satterlee arms also has a 3 pos Winchester safety for mausers. I have one on my custom Mauser and I like it alot.
Re: Accurate 7mm Cartridge I went 7 SAUM, shoots very well, I have 700 R+P cases and I am on the 4th firing of my first group of 50 cases. That will be the last time they will be fired. Its very very accurate.
Re: 6.5x55 / 6.5x47 lapua I have a 6.5 x 55 in a small ring 98 mauser action. Love it, however I think it is a little bit of a bastard cartridge in that it is to long for a SA and to short for a LA. If it were me I would choose the 6.5x47 and get a short action Surgeon.

Re: Advice for lightweight rifle build needed As much as I love a custom rifle a Kimber Montana for under a grand is very doable in a 300 wsm or others. Use the left over for optics and you have a winner. JMHO
Re: Trigger question I should clarify that I think 1 lb is to low for hunting. After some more looking I am thinking I want about 2 lbs or so for a trigger with the possibility of going lower.
What is a good trigger for a combo tactical/hunting rig. The action is a Stiller predator. I would like a trigger that has a weight at 16oz or so. Is 16oz even safe for hunting? What weight is everyone running on their rigs? Am I crazy for even trying to make this rifle do two things? Thanks.
Re: Cerakote Application Here is a link to one that looks do able and is small enough it could sit in the corner out of the way. Keeping the heat consistiant is my biggest concern. http://www272.pair.com/stevewag/heater/heater1.html
Re: Cerakote Application Thanks everyone, what would be the best way to heat it up? I have seen a few homemade ovens that look like they could work any other suggestions?
