I recently ordered and returned the Tubb level. it was poorly finished and i would not put that on an S&B scope, the screw mounting threads looked cut by hand, sloppy and not perpendicular to the surface. Maybe it was just mine but I returned that at my loss cause they did not see anything wrong...

Are the Ti bodies going for increased strength meaning same gauge wall thickness as Al tubes at the cost of added weight or same as Al strength via thinner gauge Ti but at a lighter weight scope? Is it possible to hit a middle ground?

FYI, Rainier just released their gen 2 RUC rifles in 16" and 18" with listed weights at 6 lbs 1.4 oz and 6 lbs. 8.2 oz respectively. Build components look pretty decent too so it should be possible to build something pretty light if these are anything to go by.

Aero precision extended scope mount is very light, nicely made and under $100. Only negative is due to the one sided scope ring tightening, causes the scope to rotate as you tighten so you have to compensate for that. I'd still buy it despite knowing that now. Got it on my AR.

No idea how they shoot but ice arms barrels are around $200 and are nitrocarburized which is more or less melonite but without the trademark. Website says the barrels are sourced from green mountain and appear to have various types in stock.

Handguards look like they are from Lancer Systems which you can buy any length though Kyle may get them cheaper as he doesn't need their AR specific adapter.

Mmmmm, this looks more attainable than the AXMC pricewise and still a lot of bang for the buck. So the threaded switchbarrel adds a bit more but that's the one to get. I'm wondering how much an alternate caliber barrel will run. My dreaming of a DTA has taken an about face.
