LOL, the pic from Roswell. I did drivers ed on the old runways at that airport in 82 or so. Now I fly RC airplanes there. Its not an active airport anymore.

Same mats I have. 3 of them seems to be just about right.

A little over two years in and Im still on the mats 5 or 6 days a week. I wouldnt trade it for anything. During last years "Lockdown" I was fortunate enough to order some mats when it first looked likely. My house was like a BJJ speak easy.....

Which Mora did you break?

These two were before the BHK. A CRKT Saker and Mora Bushcraft. The Saker is the perfect shape. But the soft steel rolls bad. The Mora is still a go to.

For my Birthday last month I bought this Battle Horse Knives Patriot Scout. So far I love it! Its on the smaller size, cuts notches and feathers well. Throws a great spark of a ferro rod, and holds an edge really well!

Brine for sure. Salt, brown sugar, cajun seasoning, onions and garlic. Then smoke or fry. This year is smoke for us.

My wife and I ordered some mats from Amazon. Our living room is now grappling central until the covid school closure is over. Our school is doing Zoom classes. So we watch the techniques and then drill them. The professor can see us and make corrections. Its not a perfect solution but man...

Just finished my first year of BJJ. Over the year Ive lost 45ish pounds, put on lean muscle, learned a ton, made some amazing friends, and earned my 4th stripe on my white belt. Im training 6-8 hours a week. My only regret is not starting way sooner. If you are on the fence about it, just do it.

Fresh roasted chile, cleaned while hot. Slap it onto a fresh hot home made tortilla add a pinch of salt and enjoy. That is what fall is about.

All the above is good stuff. I will add that a good BJJ class will work your whole body and give you some very usable skills. If you dont do it before the academy damn sure do it after!
