Seems a few years ago one came by and stripped a layer off out Atmosphere! Nice!

So we have... Bleed out viruses, comets, meteors and astroids, Nuclear War, Supervolcano and now... Magnetars!

Woo Hoo! Definitely will make TV worth watching. Except that with our atmosphere stripped away instantly at 186,000 miles per second... there won't be any more TV's.

Sleep well and, hey, buy that new Optic. Noone's getting out of here alive!

Reminds me of:
Astronomer at lecture in museum: "The sun will explode in 350 Billion years."
Student;"Wait, WHAT did you say?"

Student, "Oh. Phew, I thought you said MILLIONS."
Who fricken cares? There's threats a whole lot closer and a whole lot more likely right here at hand.
