Super 1050 Case Feed Housing Question

Entirely Crimson and Range Panda offer a replacement case feed housing machined from aluminum. The Range Panda version (Ben Stoeger Pro Shop) offers an interesting feature with a swing arm to lock the case feed plunger from moving forward to insert the next case into the shell plate. This should allow clearing a jam on the shell plate without needing to unload the entire case feeder tube. Does anyone have experience with this upgrade? Does it work? Would you recommend it?

The Range Panda version has been out of stock for several months. Does anyone have contact info? Are they still in business?

Yup, I've got one, it's awesome, and I'd definitely say it's worth the money. RangePanda is still very much in business but they're a two (maybe three) man shop and are currently launching a new race holster for USPSA and IPSC so they may just have some of their smaller pieces on the back burner at the moment.

I've been a huge fan of all of their products I've picked up.

*edit to say I've got no experience with EntirelyCrimson.

Spilled milk and spilled primers on 1050

It seems that whenever something goes wrong with the primer slide and feed system on a Dillon 1050, the primer tube is at least half full. The inevitable result - at least for my fumble fingers - is primers dropping out of the tube and spilling everywhere on my bench. I have had the Armanov live primer chute and magnetic capture on my 650 for several years. Works like a charm - except when I knock the magnets loose.

Armanov also makes a similar product for the 1050, but it ships with a steel ratchet. Why? Since none of my 1050s were ever operated manually and have never had a ratchet assembly (shipped directly to Forcht for autodrive conversion), I can't figure what role the ratchet plays. Is this critical to attaching the primer catcher? Anybody use this add-on?

I was working on my 223 Ackley loading marathon on my Dillon 1100 when I learned something new. After 25+ years of loading on these machines, a new curve ball.

My machine started getting stiff and I traced it to the primer slide. I thought the track was dirty. After cleaning it with acetone and compressed air the slide was still dragging.

The new generation of 1050s and 1100s have a new primer slide (Dillon part #7 and 7A) assembly. The new one has a small bronze bushing held in place by a screw. The old version was just a roll pin and a chunk of plastic tubing.

Turns out the screw that holds the bushing in place was working out and causing the slide to bind. So I pulled the screw, degreased it, put some purple locktite on the screw and put the press back together. All better, running like a champ again.

Below is old vs new primer slide.

Hmmm...just another example of Dillon's slow slide down the cheapskate route. Smh...

Yep I got the same email this morning and ordered mine..

Not liking the user reports that it takes forever to change calibers with this new case feeder and have to remove over a dozen screws.... we will see... takes 2 seconds to change my MBF by dropping in a new plate and sliding in a new toolhead and attaching the spring with the turn of an allen screw....

Had a buddy come over this afternoon to help with the install. Watched the Dillon video. Laid everything out. Assembly was easy and straightforward. Even for someone with limited mechanical skills.

First few hundred rounds have been trouble free.
