Join contestWhat’s right and what’s legal aren’t always the same thing. Here's the deal. Pretend the biker was being a dick. Lane splitting, showing off, even yelling at the car driver. That is still not justification for attempted murder by means of hit-and-run collision.
Any prosecutor could say, "At what point, mister car driver, can you say that your live was in such great danger that you needed to enact harsh and possibly deadly force? The biker was in his lane and you purposely swerve into his lane.
What’s right and what’s legal aren’t always the same thing.
Depends on what you mean by "right". In a cosmic, karma sense, yes. lolYou think that intentionally smashing into a motorcyclist because he was acting like an asshole is right?
Open your door.............watch the fun..........Didn't watch the video, but in and of itself:
Lane splitting or filtering is legal in the following states:
https://www.bing.com/ck/a?!&&p=66c0...LWxhbmUtc3BsaXR0aW5nLXN0YXRlLW5hdGlvbi8&ntb=1
Most have specific circumstances, like traffic slower than 15 mph. Except California, anything goes, welcome to the Thunderdome.
- California
- Utah
- Arizona
- Montana
- Hawaii
- Colorado
- Minnesota (beginning July 1, 2025)
California
This forward-thinking state has allowed motorcycles to lane-split for some time by dint of a vague "it’s not illegal" stance. In 2016, lane-splitting was made explicitly legal, making California the only state to allow it to such an extent. Yay, riding in California! Try it when you’re there; it works and it’s magical.
People that engage in road rage are the lowest segment of society. Dont care whose fault or who got hurt.
It's right up there with arguing on the internet.
I had a guy raging at me because he said that he had the right of way and I should have yeilded. He was in a 2500 crew cab RAM dually
If that’s the way you want to take it, do you think someone in a car should just accept when a motorcycle swerves at them, screams and gestures, then reaches for their saddle bag? Well, I choose my life over his, every time….You think that intentionally smashing into a motorcyclist because he was acting like an asshole is right? That act could have resulted in a pileup with multiple deaths and millions in property loss.

You can’t use deadly force unless he pulls a gun from the saddle bag and the threat to your life is imminent. Gesturing toward a saddle bag is not enough. Secondly, there are other people on the road you have to think about.
i almost got a ticket for laying on my horn at somebody that almost caused an accident (apparently did not understand traffic circles or didn't care).I almost never hock my horn, except when other people are honking at each I other. I like to return fire and confuse them. ("Why is THAT guy honking?")
I think a good comparison is walking in a crosswalk in front of a speeding semi. You think that intentionally smashing into a motorcyclist because he was acting like an asshole is right? That act could have resulted in a pileup with multiple deaths and millions in property loss.
And..........so is driving 5 over the posted limitIllegal.
Agreed.And..........so is driving 5 over the posted limit
California is the only state that lane splitting is legal...........there are several states that allow motorcycles to do what is called lane filtering, but most laws state that traffic must be stopped, or moving at less than 15MPH............no laws state you can blow down between lanes of traffic at 20 or more above Interstate speeds..........
I live in Cali and I ride. I always get a chuckle when traffic is going 80 and a guy on a bike blows by lane splitting at a `100+. I just sing as he disappears "You gonna die......"
Don't even need an excuse.Give us an excuse and we'll run you over.![]()
Maybe the drunk was scared for their life because they thought it was a bike gang? There’s a funeral next week here in Texas for a family that was wiped out by a drunk driver, who swept his SUV into their motorcycles at high speed. Head on. Big motorcycle rally will escort the family’s remains from San Antonio to Kerrville, for services. The usual clubs. Killed father, niece and son, sent mom to intensive care.
‘88 or “89 I watched a 21 y/o kill himself running from the cops. Over 100 in a 35. Young girl was turning out of a parking lot when he t-boned the front end. Flew about 100 feet before a building interrupted his flight.
There was a right curve about 100 yards from the scene. He wasn’t in sight when the girl started her turn. Interviews with his friends brought out the “cager” comments.
Cop chasing him said he intended to warn him.
Are you defending a drunk driver? Do these people like a biker gang? Are you aware your parents are brother and sister?Maybe the drunk was scared for their life because they thought it was a bike gang?
One of those bike riders might have been future Hitler, you need to shift your paradigm dude.
At least he was wearing a helmet and leathersI cant leave two reactions.
So the the first video…

Yeah. Good for him. Lol.At least he was wearing a helmet and leathers![]()
If it wasn’t for a Bell helmet I wouldn’t be writing this.Yeah. Good for him. Lol.
Reality check here.
As kids when we would ride dirt bikes around the house we didn’t wanna wear helmets, Dad would to tell us “put your helmet on!”
A few times i said “dad, a helmet isnt really gonna save my life will it?”
He replied “no, but your mom and i can have an open casket funeral at least.”
Few years later he died in a motorcycle crash, i was right behind him. He had his helmet on, and yes we were able to have an open casket funeral, quite literally because he had a helmet on.
Wear your helmets.
I watched that one live.
