CZ 457

That's a crazy low SD, hope you managed to buy a bunch of that lot of ammo.

CZ457 + L3i barrel is definitely hard to beat for value for money.
Yes, sir - you have got that right! That ammo was identified as the best when I was lot testing for another rifle. I bought 2 cases of it, and have almost a whole case left. It is now shared between the two rifles.

As soon as I find sufficient availability for 6-10 lots, I plan to lot test the first 457 and my soon to be second L3I barreled 457.

Was not happy with the Boyds that it came in once I started pillar bedding as the pillars from the factory were "blown out" of the inletting as supplied. Manners is 6months out so she sits in a KRG for now.

The KRG accepted the L3i magwell and 10rd mags just fine.

What is everyone torquing chassis bolts? I just converted an envy element to lefthand. I have read 20 -25 inch should work. Thanks Scott
I have mine in a MDT ACC chassis and another in Vision chassis and have torqued to 30 in-lbs.

I have read for stocks (20-25) and for MDT chassis (35 in-lbs) so I split the difference and have no issues on accuracy.

How do you like the vision chassis?
The Vision chassis for the CZ457 is very nice and configurable. I don’t like the design of the internal weights as it limits the max diameter for barrel you can have before the barrel and internal weights will interfere with each other. I have to run a .9 x 26” barrel with internal weights and some external weights to balance the rifle.

If you want to run a larger diameter barrel, then I highly recommend the MDT ACC Premier Gen 1 chassi for CZ457. Get the solid 1 piece internal weight (long bar), paired with 24” 1.18” dia barrel, a couple external weights and you are golden! Rifle system weighs in about 20 lbs. The Vision CZ457 above is about 21 lbs. both balance forward of the barricade stop.

With that said, I really like the folding adapter for the buttock and love the easy adjustability of the bag rider, cheek riser and buttpad. They lock up tight yet easy without having to muscle tight the thumb screws.

The multi-position holes to custom place the thumb rest is awesome.

The pistol grip is oversized but comfortable, but I prefer the MDT vertical elite grip for the softer rubber texture feel. The Vision grip is highly useable though, so not a negative, just the MDT is a higher positive.

Last note, the Vision Pro chassis (R700SA) has no weaknesses (better internal weights shape, allows for larger diameter barrels), same feature for folding adapter, stock, etc. I take the Vision Pro over the MDT ACC Elite every time. The MDT ACC Elite is a close 2nd and also not a negative, just the Visio Pro is a higher positive.

Vision is coming out with a gen 2 ambidextrous for cz. Apparently will accommodate larger barrel
They already did as a rolling change, at least they increased the inlet size to take up to a 1.2” dia barrel and I got mine early January. It’s the full competition forend that is still the same and a little shallow such that the internal weights are not shaped concave to make space for the larger barrel diameter hence the larger barrel makes hard contact with the raised portion of the vision weights inside the forend. If the barrel diameter is 0.9”, it clears with no contact.

The Vision Pro has dedicated internal weights that are shaped concave to allow more room and no contact with the larger barrels.
